The sitting room is nearly thirty feet long with exposed roof timbers, a distressed oak floor and a highly effective open fire at one end.

There are two sofas, one of which converts to a double bed, and dining table and chairs to seat four guests. There is a media centre consisting of TV, DVD/video and surround sound stereo, and laptops can normally access a wireless network from the farmhouse.

Outside there is a small walled breakfast area with table and chairs, leading to a small paddock and access to parking. There is also a patio heater and barbecue at your disposal.

A galleried landing and library lead up to the kitchen which is fully equipped with dishwasher, fridge, AGA-style oven and coffee maker.

Upstairs in the master bedroom there is a large double bed and open plan bathroom, with slipper bath offering uninterrupted views over the paddocks beyond.

Todenham is a small, unspoilt settlement nestling in the folds of the stunning surrounding countryside. The village is centred on the Farriers Arms and the church of St Thomas.

The pub has a wonderful cosy atmosphere and meals are served every lunchtime and evening. Within a fifteen minute stroll there is also the Fox and Hounds at Great Wolford, another great pub which serves meals every day except Monday evening.

There are a variety of great walks that emanate from the village, most notably down the side of the impressive Todenham Manor and across the fields following the direction of the old road to Burmington.

Little evidence is left of the road other than a small stone footbridge and a fording point across the river, now home to a range of wildlife including otters, kingfishers and crayfish.

In the other direction you can visit the site of the medieval village of Ditchford, its streets still clearly visible from the air, and continue on to Lemington Lakes where you can buy a daily pass and enjoy a spot of coarse fishing on one of its four lakes.
