Area description
North Uist in the Western Isles is a landscape of fresh and salt water lochs with miles of sandy beaches and plenty rugged hills. It is very popular with walkers, bird watchers and cyclists alike. Bayhead on the west side is a bird watchers paradise. The island is connected by causeway to Benbecula and South Uist. North Uist can be reached by ferry as detailed on the CalMac website or by plane to Benbecula Flybe website.
