Built in 1828, as the focal point of Burton's St Leonards, we derive our name from Queen Victoria who ranks among the hotel's many famous visitors. Others include King George V, Prince Albert, Edward VII, Gladstone, Palmerston & Tennyson.
Many of the elegantly spacious and comfortably furnished bedrooms feature a separate lounge area and enjoy stunning views over the English Channel and Beachy Head. For those special occasions there are several suites and a room with a spiral staircase from the lounge, leading to the bedroom and bathroom on an upper level. All rooms have en-suite facilities with showers over the baths, Colour TV, direct dial telephones with data ports, hairdryer, trouser press and tea & coffee making facilities. A lift serves all floors. Complimentary WIFI to all paying guests in public areas, conference rooms and all bedrooms.
In the Sea Terrace Restaurant, located on the first floor, you are able to enjoy a selection of traditional and international cuisine each dinner whilst enjoying the spectacular views across the channel. A wine list featuring wines from around the world will complement your meal. A speciality of the Best Western Royal Victoria is the traditional Sunday Lunch Carvery featuring Chefs Roasts and a selection of homemade Sweets.

Situated in the heart of Burton’s St Leonard’s, which was created in the 1800’s, the Royal Victoria shares its architectural heritage with many of the neighbouring buildings which in its heyday attracted the nobility to the area. Just a brisk walk along from the hotel you will find Hastings with its cobbled streets in the Old Town, the Fisherman’s Museum on the Stade, the Smugglers Adventure, the 1066 Story in Hastings Castle and Hastings Pier.
Being in the heart of 1066 Country Hastings is an ideal base for you to visit Battle with its Abbey and the site of the Battle of Hastings in 1066. To the west is Pevensey with its castle ruins and the oldest Norman Church in England and close to Eastbourne. To the east is the fishing town of Rye which, with its narrow cobbled streets, is one of the original Cinque Ports.
Bring your passport and a day trip to France is possible, either on a train through the Channel Tunnel or by ferry from one of a number of nearby cross-channel ferry ports.
