Blackheath Cottage

Blackheath Cottage accommodation includes the following;

Bedrooms - one with king size double bed and the other with a queen size and a single bed. All mattresses are new with duvets and cotton linen to ensure a great ‘holiday sleep’. Bedside cabinets with lamps allow a late read if you still have the energy.

Kitchen – very well appointed with gas and electric ovens, microwave, coffee percolator, dish washer, washing machine and drier. There is a wine cooler to ensure a cool drink on balmy summer evenings. The kitchen opens to the rear garden which is secluded and has a small area for dining out

Dining Room – farmhouse furniture for 6 people and Welsh dresser fully laden with Denby crockery. There is a music centre with an i-pod docking port to enjoy your own entertainment. The room has a lantern roof and double French doors that open to the rear garden, both ensure a lovely light and airy feel when dining

Lounge – always comfortable in summer and winter with sofas and an armchair. Although the cottage is very well heated there is a log burner to complete the comfort and we provide logs. For entertainment there is a 28 inch flat screen TV with (Sky Sports etc), DVD player (with a range of DVDs for all ages), plus a range of games for all ages. We also have a wide range of books from local interest and walks to, fiction and more serious matters, plus folders with up to date local knowledge on where to eat, buy local food and places of interest.

Bathroom – located downstairs, it has a large bath and power shower plus handbasin with Edwardian style tapwork.All hand and bath towells are provided

Gardens- there are secure lawned gardens at the back and front of the cottage. At the rear we provide chairs for lounging and dining out, there is also a Winchester barbeque. In the front there is a wooden bench where you can sit to enjoy the morning sunshine listening to the stream that runs off the hill and down the side of the lane. We ask that the front garden gate is kept closed at all times because sheep, cattle and horses regularly come down off the common to graze the verges and love to pop in to the garden ‘for a bite to eat’!

Local shops– there is a small post office/local shop 100 yards up the lane where you can get a daily paper, all essentials including some good wines. For a bigger shop there are a number of very well stocked garage shops within 2 miles. Key supermarkets are found near Swansea and they will deliver to Reynoldston. Please let us know if you want to arrange a delivery before you arrive.

Local dining – there is a great local pub/hotel in the village (www.kingarthur.co.uk) which do meals at all hours, plus a range of restaurants and hotels with an easy drive. (Details are provided in the cottage). There is also an excellent local home catering service in the village (check www.crumblescatering.co.uk)

Rates – from £300-£750 per week depending on season. We let from Sat to Sat,but during winter months are very flexible to accommodate short term breaks. Prices include all bed linen and towels with a small local treat to enjoy when you arrive.

Household rules – not many, but strictly no pets and no smoking
