Norfolk Cottages is a small complex of four cottages set around a courtyard of which Bluebell Cottage is part of. All four cottages are architecturally designed recently converted buildings that once formed part of a working farm in rural South Norfolk. All four cottages lie in the grounds of a recently discovered Medieval Hall House circa 14th century.
Bluebell Cottage itself was part of the original dairy and is a single storey bright and sunny cottage with windows all around to let the sun in. The accommodation is spacious making it suitable for wheelchair users.
The accommodation comprises of the following:-
The Living Room has two large sofas, one of which is a high quality sofa bed. There is a wealth of exposed beams and vaulted ceiling giving an airy feel to the cottage, there is under floor heating to keep visitors cosy in the cooler months.
The kitchen has pine fitted units with a low level built in oven, electric hob, sink and section of worktop giving space under for ease of use for wheelchair users.
The bedroom is a spacious twin room. Both beds are a standard 3ft divan, one of which is fitted with a bed raiser making it adjustable.
The bathroom has a bath with overhead track for a hoist (which can be hired) and a separate wheel in shower, the transfer space is to the right of the toilet.
Bluebell Cottage has been inspected for the new accessible standards and has achieved NAS Mobility Level 3 Assisted.
Bluebell Cottage is adjacent to Primrose Cottage and both cottages can be hired together. There is an internal locking connecting door in the hallway of the properties, which can be left open giving a very large living space.
Outside the gardens are fully accessible from the car park and the cottage, with a patio table and seating for 4 just outside the cottage.
We have many aids which can be hired many of which we do not charge for, please refer to our booking form for available items and please check availability at the time of booking.
There is a separate Laundry room where you can use a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board, a small charge is made for use of the washing machine and tumble dryer.
The Leisure complex sits to one side of the courtyard and has been designed for all seasons with under floor heating for the cooler days and on warm sunny days the doors can be opened up and folded back. The pool is kept at a warmer than average temperature so even if you don’t swim it’s warm enough to join in the fun. The pool is large enough to accommodate the regular swimmer who wishes to exercise and those who simply want some fun. The pool and the spa are accessible by steps or an overhead hoist and sling. A recent addition to the complex is the table tennis table (a small deposit is charged for the bats and balls which is refunded upon return of the equipment at the end of your stay), a sauna and games room with pool table complete the leisure complex.
