Welcome to Brighouse Bay Holiday Cottages. We have three delightful self-catering cottages overlooking the unspoilt bay of Brighouse, on the north Solway shore.
The cottages are in a peaceful rural setting 2 miles from Borgue, and a bit further from Kirkcudbright, and they have expansive views over Brighouse Bay, the rolling Galloway hills and over the Solway to the Isle of Man. There is just a total of six properties on Brighouse Bay.
Our cottages, called Cormorant (4 star), Oyster-Catcher and Sand Piper are three attractive, comfortable, self catering cottages, fully equipped to identical standards, with all the facilities required for a family holiday.
The bay boasts magnificent views over the Irish Sea and is surrounded by 1200 acres of great walking country. Quiet rural roads make for safe cycling, and there is a free-to-use slipway closeby if you want to bring along your dinghy. At the head of the bay there is a safe sandy beach.
3 bedrooms, 2 doubles & a twin bedded room. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room. The kitchen is fully equipped with washer/dryer fridge/freezer dishwasher, ceramic hob electric cooker. The cottages are double glazed & oil fired central heating. The living room has a multi fuel stove, lovely to sit a in the evening with a glass of wine, relaxing enjoying the surrounding scenery. The garden at the front of the cottages are enclosed & the rear of the property has a shared courtyard.

Brighouse Bay has everything holiday makers could wish for! Set in a quiet picturesque peninsula, it's one of south west Scotland's hidden gems! The Bay boasts magnificent views over the Irish Sea & is surrounded by around 1200 acres of great walking countryside. There are only six properties on the Bay. A safe sandy beach for those sunny days, or dogs paddling or swimming. Cycling routes include the Seven Stanes, fishing & sailing, windsurfing, horse riding & bird watching to mention a few. The area is also a natural haven for wildlife, we frequently have deer, pheasants, hares & rabbits in the garden. Area of the shore being a SSSI site, mainly due to rare irises, flax, Knatter-jack toads, otters & mink. keep your eye open, you may also see seals basking or swimming in the Bay. there are numerous golf courses in the area.
kirkcudbright, the artist's town, is a few miles away. It's full of art galleries,gift shops & several very good restaurants. slightly further away is Castle Douglas also known as the food town.
Once you have sampled Brighouse & surrounding area, you'll certainly want more.
