Bryn Melyn Guest House is an oasis of calm within the bustling seaside resort of Barmouth. High above the town it's hard to believe you are still in Barmouth at all, and yet the harbour and town centre can be reached by foot in just ten minutes.
Relax and unwind in our comfortable and peaceful lounge. Maybe sit in the bay window and watch the bird-life, or browse our selection of guide books and maps for ideas. Amuse yourself with our selection of board games and jigsaws and wash it all down with a drink from our well stocked bar, open every evening and serving a wide range of drinks, including a selection of Welsh beers and ciders. Maybe treat yourself to a glass of Welsh whisky!
Most of our generous guest rooms feature large picture windows with far-reaching views across the Mawddach Estuary, the Cadair range of mountains and out to sea. A substantial programme of refurbishment over the last two winters has seen all our rooms upgraded with new bathrooms, new beds, new carpets and new TV’s as part of our promotion to 4-stars by Visit Wales. We have 6 double and 2 twin rooms and several rooms have space for an additional Z-bed, (please ask at time of booking). All rooms feature Freeview television and tea and coffee making facilities, and there is free wi-fi access across most of the house. Bathrooms feature walk-in showers, luxury towels and complimentary toiletries. A separate guest bathroom is available should you wish to indulge in a hot bath – help yourself from our collection of soothing foam baths.
Our dining room serves a tasty cooked breakfast with plenty of choice and locally-sourced ingredients. Evening meals are available most weeks, most days, by prior arrangement.
Outside our panoramic sun terrace offers far-reaching views and is a great place to enjoy a locally-brewed beer or a pot of tea. We also have our own car park with free parking for all guests.
Please note: We are accessed up a steep road with sharp corners. Whilst the harbour is only half a mile away the walk back up the hill is demanding. The reward is the view!
