Budleigh Farm - Dartmoor

Budleigh Farm is tucked away at the end of the pretty Wray Valley, surrounded by hills, woods and meadows, yet little more than a stone's throw from the road.

Our 7 self-catering properties have been thoughtfully designed from distinctive granite barns which were originally built by W H Smith towards the end of the 19th century. Some are clustered around a courtyard while others border a large garden. With modern comfort, whatever the weather, we guarantee you will be warm and cosy. The cottages are well-equipped, to VisitBritain's standard, with some extras which we feeladd to the ambience.

There are lovely gardens and patios to enjoy in summer with our well-maintained outdoor swimming pool privately and pleasantly situated (heated, summer months only). Children can amuse themselves on the outdoor play area which includes swings, slide and a climbing tower, a football goal and handball net. Table-tennis can be enjoyed by all ages. Budleigh also has facilities for archery and target shooting. Dartmoor is a wonderful walking area, offering a great variety with rivers, hills and magnificent views, and a great challenge to cyclists.

At Budleigh Farm sheep graze over 60 acres of pasture, while our woodland is home to buzzard, badgers, squirrels and foxes. In spring snowdrops and daffodils fill the valley; then later bluebells soften the woods with a smoky haze.

A recently constructed community path means there is direct off-road access to Moretonhampstead from our farm, so visitors no longer have to run the guantlet of the A382 but can walk or cycle in safety.

Budleigh is easy to find as the A382 runs past the end of our drive. We are centrally situated in Devon, making it comparatively simple to reach all parts of the county.
