Entering from Prospect Place the open plan hallway is furnished with a Victorian hall table and opens into both the sitting room and dining room. A door leads to the family ground floor bathroom. The winding staircase , with open spindles, rises to the first floor. A 24 hour, user controlled, central heating thermostat controls the heating. Each room has it own separate thermostat.
Sitting Room:
From the Georgian sash window there are uninterrupted views over Southampton Water. The sitting room has two leather sofas comfortably seating six. Television, with free serve multi-channels, a DVD and video player. A decorative Victorian fireplace with marble hearth centres the room.
Dining Room:
From the tranquillity of the central dining room with its Victorian octagonal oak dining table and chairs seating six, views of both the rear gardens and Southampton Water may be admired a door leads to the family groundfloor bathroom/cloakroom.
Kitchen:
A dark slate floor holds a contemporary modern Maple kitchen comprising of:
* Integral larder fridge with built in Combination Microwave and grill.
* Integral freezer.
* Ceramic halogen electric hob with extractor over and double oven with grill.
* Washing machine with built-in dryer.
* Dishwasher.
* Sink and draining board.
* Fully equipped with usual equipment.
A stable door leads to the rear garden.
Ground Floor Bedroom 3:
A twin single 3' 0" bedded room with fitted wardrobe and complete with duvets and pillows. All bed linen is included. LDC Television, with freeview multi-channels.The patio door leads to the rear south facing garden.
Family Ground Floor Bathroom and Landing WC:
The white bathroom has a modern bath with grips. A basin, toilet and heated towel rail.
Stairs from Hall to first floor Landing with separate WC.
Master Bedroom & En-Suite:
A Georgian sash window overlooks Southampton Water.
Chrome 5' king size double bed complete with duvet and pillows. All bed linen is included. Fitted wardrobe. Door leads to separate en-suit complete with thermostatic shower, basin and toilet.LDC Television, with freeview multi-channels.
Bedroom 2 & En-Suite:
Georgian sash fire escape window overlooks the rear walled garden. Two 3'0" single beds complete with duvets and pillows. Twin Beds may be joint if required. All bed linen is included. Fitted wardrobe and fitted suitcase cupboard. Door leads to separate en-suit comprising of thermostatic shower and basin. (WC directly outside bedroom door on landing) LDC Television, with freeview multi-channels.
Front Garden:
An attractive railed front garden leads to Prospect Place & the ""Waterfront Green"" with the shingle foreshore to Southampton Water.
Rear Garden:
The South facing rear walled garden has two levels. From the kitchen and Bedroom 2 there is a small paved terrace with raised flower beds garden and complete with a cast iron table and 4 chairs.
Rising by 3 steps the upper garden comprises of a paved courtyard garden with flower beds and a potted garden.
Double French doors leads to the garage.
Upper Rear Garden & Garage:
There is parking for 2 cars. A single brick garage is enclosed within the rear gardens and is accessed via a Doctors Surgery car park to the rear of Captains House.
There is an additional single parking space infront of the garage door.
Please note: Although no other parking is allowed within the doctors surgery carpark there is a public car park for extra vehicles/boats etc. within a 100 meters walk.
We provide 2 resident/visitors carparking clocks for use during your stay. These allow parking in the adjacent carpark together with most other New Forest District Council village carparks.
Garage Parking + Parking space:
Captains House has a single private garage with an additional open single space to the front of the garage door.
We provide 2 Resident Parking clocks usable in several New Forest District Council town centre car parks.
All electric and Gas charges are included within the letting charges.
Heating/Hot Water is programmed 24 hrs via guest adjustable thermostats.
Beds are made up, linen costs are inclusive, before your arrival.
Each guest is provided with a hand and bath towel.
Kitchen tea towels, washing/dishwasher powders etc are provided
A child's high chair, adjustable stair gate and cot, without linen, may be provided upon request at no extra charge.
The property is "Non-Smoking" with the exception of the garden

In a Unrivaled prominent position it is overlooking The Green, Hythe Pier and facing Southampton Water. Situated centrally within the conservation area of Old Hythe it commands superb views.
Hythe, where the Forest meet the Sea, boasts of having the oldest working pier train in the world. Its narrow gauge railway takes passengers to the pier head where the short trip is taken to Southampton.
The village, together with its mixture of Georgian, Victorian and modern architecture, has many shops and is fortunate to have one of Britain's favourite supermarkets, a small Waitrose, where excellence in foods may be found.
There are a variety of local inns and restaurants within the village and marina, where a complete choice of foods are served.
A free of charge public slipway is available for launching dinghies and powerboats. Short term boat
storage is available from Hythe Marina.
The open walks in the New Forest are just 3 miles away. Exbury Gardens, with its train ride through the Rhododendrons gardens and Beaulieu Palace, with the renowned Motor Museum, are all within 15 minutes drive.
Two separate sandy/shingle beaches for swimming and sail boarding are at approximately 6 miles
distance. Horse riding, golf, indoor swimming/sauna, rock climbing, track cycling and dry skiing are also available in the ‘Hythe & Waterside’ areas.
Power Rib Boat lessons may be taken at the Marina, 2 minutes walk away. Bicycle hire is available within the village. Hythe also has an open air market each Tuesday.
A 15 minute trip on the Hythe Ferry leaves every 30 minutes throughout the day. It will take you to Southampton and passes closely to Southampton's Dock Head.
The Isle of Wight is approximately 30 minutes by Hydrofoil or a 60 minute Car Ferry trip and ferries depart hourly from Southampton, adjacent to the Hythe Ferry landing jetty.
A little further afield, approximately 10 to 12 miles, we have the countryside towns of Lyndhurst and Lymington. Within 35 minutes by car, the City of Winchester, capital of Wessex, and at 40 minutes drive, Salisbury, famous for the highest Cathedral spire in England. The resort of Bournemouth with its fine sandy beaches is just 40/50 minutes drive.

The property is accessed using a security keybox. The access code is sent to the holidaymaker before the holiday complete with the route. The property owners live within the village centre & are usually available during the holiday period should the holidaymakers require any information or help
