Charlotte's Cottage offers affordable holiday accommodation, with home from home facilities, for up to four Guests. Changeover days are flexible and there is no minimum or maximum stay. Whether you will be visiting for a holiday, a stopover, business or for a short break Charlotte's location and the facilities included in the tariff make this self-catering accommodation excellent value for money. Plus a warm Irish welcome is always guaranteed!
A traditional Irish farm labourer’s cottage, thought to date back to the 1700s, Charlotte's has recently undergone a tasteful and sympathetic refurbishment yet retains many of the original features. Set amidst stunning scenery and located at the foot of Benbradagh Mountain this area of Northern Ireland is often referred to as "The Hidden Jewel", as it is in the heart of The Sperrins Mountain Range and The Roe Valley in County Londonderry or Derry as it is known locally.
The cottage has an unusual layout as the rooms are at ground, mid and first floor levels, which compensated for the natural fall of the land. Ground floor level there is a relaxing and comfortable sitting room/dining area with a cosy open fire and a well equipped kitchen. There is a Double Ensuite bedroom with shower at mid floor level and a Twin Ensuite bedroom with bath on the 1st floor. Entrance to the cottage is by a stable door and into a small hallway and this adds to the overall charm and character that only properties of this age possess. Charlotte’s Cottage is semi-detached and is adjacent to the main farm house, where the Owners live.
Accessed by a private green lane the location of Charlotte’s Cottage ensures the best of both worlds. Set amidst stunning countryside with amazing views it guarantees peace, quiet and relaxation. Alternatively, visiting places of interest and the local towns is easy as the roads here are never busy and travelling around is a pleasure. The nearby town of Dungiven is 1 mile away and the main A6 road passes directly through it; approximately 100 miles in length this is the main road that links the southern part of Northern Ireland to the northern area and onwards into County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland. Limavady and Garvagh, 10 miles: Coleraine, Londonderry/Derry, Bushmills and Benone Beach, 18 miles: The Giant’s Causeway, Portrush, Portstewart and Ballymena, 23 miles: Belfast 1½ hours drive, Dublin 3 hours drive.
The North and South of Ireland are rightly called, The Emerald Isle

Links to the below areas can be found on our website (link found at the top of this listing, and also in our contact area)
Ballykelly:
Ballykelly lies three miles west of Limavady on the road to Londonderry. A small town, Ballykelly nevertheless commands attention for its pastoral scenery and notable historical landmarks including Tamlaghtfinlagan Parish Church, built by Earl Frederick Hervey, 18th Century Bishop of Derry and Presbyterian Church, Drummond Hotel and North West Independent Hospital, all built by the London Company of Fishmongers. Nearby Walworth wood hosts some of the native woods in Ulster and also provides picnic areas and jogging/walking trails. The village was host to many Allied Airmen as a base for the RAF during the Second World War.
Ballycastle
Ballycastle is a small rural seaside town placed on the most north-easterly tip of county Antrim, Northern Ireland surrounded with breath-taking beauty and steeped in cultural history. Ballycastle is best known for the 'Ould Lammas Fair', probably the largest of its kind in Ireland with its 'dulse' and 'yellowman'.
Burnfoot
Situated on the B192 approximately 4 miles from Dungiven, Burnfoot is a small village flanked by the River Roe and includes a 3km family friendly riverside walk and picnic area with interpretation on flora and fauna. The ruins of Bovevagh can be visited nearby
Belfast City
Belfast is the capital City in Northern Ireland and has a cosmopolitan culture. Like most major cities there is something for everyone here with just about everything on offer.
Stormont, Belfast
Set in beautiful park land NI's seat of Government is well worth a visit.
The open-top bus tour is excellent and will take you all over the City and the Guide's provide fantastic impartial coverage of the diverse history.
Benbradagh and Binevenagh Mountains
The 2 highest mountains in NI. Jessie's Cabin is at the base of Benbradagh and views from here are stunning.
The surrounding countryside here is classified as a place of outstanding natural beauty and we understand why.
Benone - a favourite NI holiday resort
The beach at Benone is second to none and provides miles of golden sands. We like the way that to the left dog walking is allowed and also you are able to drive onto the beach with your vehicle.
Coleraine
We really like Coleraine and this is where we would go if we were doing a lot of shopping as most of the major brand stores are to be found here. Many of the NI towns have their own individual charm and still have small family run shops, such as a bakery, local butcher and greengrocery. Coleraine has lots to offer and is excellent as a Tourist area.
Danny Boy Festival
The Danny Boy Festival has been developed by Limavady Borough Council in order to provide an opportunity to celebrate the town’s connection with Northern Ireland’s famous song “Danny Boy” through the colourful and cultural mix of music, sport, entertainment and displays of rural crafts and traditions.
Donegal and Ireland
Not far from where we are, approx. 20 minutes, is the Foyle Ferry which will take you over Lough Foyle and into County Donegal which is in the Irish Republic. It's a breathtaking day out and easily accessed from here.
Dungiven
The market town of Dungiven (meaning Given's Fort) lies nine miles south of Limavady near the foot of Benbradagh mountain. Originally the seat of the O'Cahan Clan, Dungiven Castle has been restored and is currently being refurbished and will provide a four star guest house and restaurant in the town. Dungiven Priory, overlooking a 200ft precipice on the River Roe, was founded in 1100AD and contains the tomb of Cooey-na-Gall, an ancient Chieftan of the O'Cahan clan. Dungiven Community Hall and Sports Pavilion provides local residents and tourist with excellent sporting and recreational facilities. On the direct route from Derry to Belfast, Dungiven provides visitors with a range of locally owned shops and brand name stores on its Main Street.
NI North Coast
We really are so fortunate here as we are surrounded by the most beautiful countyside and yet within a short distance we are able to enjoy a lovely drive along the NI North Coast road. The seaside towns are smallish, charming and quite old fashioned and are well worth a visit.
