Offering luxury character guest house accommodation it's the perfect place to retreat to for that special time away. Winkleigh a beautiful rural village with many thatched cottages, is perfectly situated for exploring the whole of Devon and its stunningly beautiful North and South Devon coasts and into Cornwall.
The rooms are generously proportioned and spacious having comfortable kings size beds with Egyptian cotton linen. All rooms are en suite with a choice of free standing baths to lounge in or large double shower to refresh you. All rooms have flat screen TV's with Freeview and DVD players and tea and coffee making facilities. Views from all rooms are extensive with the stunning rolling hills of Dartmoor in the distance. Dartmoor being the location for the filming by Steven Spielberg of the novel Warhorse written by Michael Morpurgo of Iddesleigh, a quintessential village 4 miles away.
You will be greeted on arrival with a welcoming cup of tea or coffee and fresh home baked cake, relax after your journey in the drawing room with wood burning stove - and grand piano for those who can play. Or if your fancy takes you sit in the gardens and take in some sun.

Winkleigh, a beautiful village with many thatched cottages, is perfectly situated for exploring the whole of Devon and its stunningly beautiful North and South Devon coasts and into Cornwall and of course with Dartmoor close by being the location for the filming by Steven Spielberg of the novel Warhorse written by Michael Morpurgo of Iddesleigh, a quintessential English village 4 miles away.
Centrally located there are many local attractions including various National Trust properties, Castle Drogo, Arlington Court, Lydford Gorge, etc. To the North Coast with its many historic harbours and beaches you will find Clovelly, Westward Ho! and many more. Also Lundy Island is easily accessible by ferry from the historic market town of Bideford. To the South Coast you will find amongst others Dartmouth, Torquay, Exmouth. For cyclists and walkers the Tarka Trail and the stunningly majestic National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor are within easy driving distance offering scenic drives and picturesque walks. Cornwall is but an hours drive and you could be seeing some of its many harbours or beaches such as Bude, Tintagel or Boscastle to name but a few or visit the Eden Project.
The fantastic wedding venues of the Fox and Hounds in Eggesford and Northcote Manor in Burrington are both within easy reach as is RHS Rosemoor Gardens.
And of course you must visit our local Winkleigh Cider factory (formerly Inch's Cider) where they brew the most wonderful Scrumpy Cider.
