Cosawes Touring & Camping Park

PARK ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT


Cosawes Park is a Residential, Touring & Camping Park, set in a mature wooded valley in Perranarworthal, 6 miles from Truro and 5 miles from Falmouth, turning off from the A39. The entrances to the Residential and Touring & Camping areas are the first and second turnings respectively, about 300 metres from the turn off on the left-hand side of the road. There are no barriers, but speed humps a few metres in from each entrance. The speed limit is strictly 15mph.
The Touring & Camping area has flat and gently sloping grass pitches and level gravel hard-standing pitches. Priority will be given for the level grass pitches to those customers with mobility impairments. The sloped grass areas have limited lighting. The new toilet block (currently under construction) is easily accessible for all and has facilities for mobility impaired customers. The old Toilet block is accessible from either the road to the Site Warden’s home, down some steps with a handrail or from the car park, up some steps with no handrail or via a pathway off the car park near the Office – more suitable for customers with mobility impairment. There is a step up into the showers, which could cause difficulty for customers with mobility impairment. Washing up and laundry facilities are in the Toilet Block building. There are no disabled facilities currently available in the old Toilet Block.
Access to the Office (open 9.00am to 1.00pm) is in the main car park area, up a gentle slope with three steps with a handrail. After office hours, the Site Warden will see to bookings. The Site Warden’s home is situated above the camping fields and is signposted. There is no shop at Cosawes Park. The nearest shops are in Ponsanooth, Perranwell or there is an ASDA on the main road to Falmouth. There is ‘Fruit & Veg’ roadside shop 100 metres from the turn off to Cosawes Park on the A39 that also sells bread, dairy products, eggs and meat. The bus stop to Truro is situated at the ‘Fruit & Veg’ shop and the bus stop to Falmouth is on the opposite side of the road. These are ‘request’ stops for First buses Nos. 89 & 90.
All hard-standing pitches have water, electricity and grey waste disposal. Grass pitches have water nearby and there are electric hook-up points. Chemical emptying points are situated in the hard-standing pitches area and outside the old Toilet Block.
We accept well-behaved dogs and there is a field with a river opposite the campsite where they can be let off the leash for a walk. There is an Information Hut situated near the grass pitches that has a small fridge and freezer and pamphlets. The car park and camping areas have CCTV cameras. The Residential areas are out of bounds to camping customers.
