Crickley Court was at one time a Coaching Inn called 'The Crown’ and thought to be at least three hundred years old. The inn also had stables, which were for the extra horses required to help pull the coaches up Crickley Hill. Our 2 Holiday Cottages at Crickley Court were converted from the Old Stable Block. They are very well equipped and both have been awarded the ‘VisitBritain’ 4 Stars rating.
Each Cottage can accommodate 4 people and both are fully equipped with washing machine/dryer; dishwasher; electric oven and hob; microwave; fridge and freezer - as well as books, games and TV with DVD for a relaxing stay! We can provide either twin beds or kingsize double beds.
Bed linen, towels & electricity are included within the price. Cot, highchair and stair gate are available if required. Each cottage has storage heaters while there is also a wood-burning stove for those cooler evenings in autumn or winter. Each cottage has it's own garden with garden furniture and washing line. Crickley Court garden covers two acres and guests are welcome to wander around.
We also have an outside swimming pool and children’s climbing frame, slide and swings.
Situated in the village of Witcombe, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty but close to major road links, Crickley Court Cottages are an ideal base for touring the many attractive towns and villages in the Cotswolds. We are close to both the Cotswold Way and the less frequently walked Gloucester Way and within easy reach of Crickley Hill Country Park, with its fantastic views over the Severn Valley, Gloucester and the Malvern Hills. We are also only 15 minutes by road to both Gloucester, with its cathedral, docks and museums, and also to Cheltenham, with its famous racecourse, shopping arcades, Holst Birthplace museum, and theatre, jazz, cricket, literature and other festivals.
Being within the Cotswolds there are plenty of attractions for guests to visit, including Painswick Rococo Gardens, Sudeley Castle, Bourton on the Water, Hidcote Manor Gardens, the Slaughters, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust, Forest of Dean. and many more, while the delights of Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury and Cirencester are all nearby. Fishing lakes and golf courses are easily accessible.
