One thing is for certain, if you decide to spend your holiday at Cwmiar Farm Holiday Cottages you won't be bored. You won't have time during your holiday to see or do a fraction of what is available! It is impossible to mention all the possibilities here, but you will find leaflets for most of them in your cottage.
On the Farm

On the days when you don't want to drive out there is the playground for the children, with swings, zip-line, see-saw, tree-house and sandpit. There is also a large arena for playing football or other ball games. Exploring and playing on the mountain (only a few steps from your cottage door) is great fun - walking somewhere where you do not have to keep to footpaths can be a strange concept, but very enjoyable and you don't have to go far to partake of some spectacular views. There's also birdwatching - Red Kites, Buzzards and many, many more to spot - see the list of birds that have been spotted by birdwatchers who stayed here.

Anyone who would like to is welcome to spend time with us taking care of the animals on the farm - inspecting cattle, brushing horses, taking the dogs for a walk, and so on. If that's what you or your children would like, then please don't forget the wellies, as paddling in the stream can be very tempting!

Pony fun days can be arranged here or at the nearby riding stables and if that's too much then hacking or lessons are also available from there.

What better than at the end of a relaxing day to have a barbeque on the back lawn by the millpond, or on your own patio, watching the sheep and ponies grazing on the mountain, buzzards and kites overhead and our lovely Welsh Black cattle in the field, and with a glass or two of your favourite tipple, see how the setting sun casts her glorious golden glow over all?
Off the Farm

On the other hand we are really central for hundreds of places of interest and leisure facilities - something for every one, from the usual to the unusual; some only a short hop away and others more of a hop skip and a jump, but don't forget, if you opt to go somewhere a little further away, you'll be driving through some of the loveliest countryside to get there. Are you sitting comfortably? Then here goes: -

Beaches - there are all sorts - sandy ones, pebbly ones and rocky ones. 45 of them (from Aberystwyth in the north round to Pembrey Country Park in the south) are award winning for cleanliness and water quality, 10 of which are our 'local' beaches - between half an hour to an hour's drive away.

Our favourite is Aberporth (about 40 mins), a delight for adults and children alike; there are two bays - one either side of the headland, both are sandy and shallow with rocks on either side for climbing and exploring rock pools, and where the stream runs down the side of one of them the children build dams to make nice warm paddling pools. Last but not least, it has a little inn just across the road from and overlooking the beach, which serves good lunches and one of the best pizza's you can find. Many visitors like Newquay beach because the town is nearby and Aberaeron is a very pretty little harbour town which is very popular.

Still with the seaside in mind are the Sea Aquarium at Aberaeron and Tenby's Silent World Aquarium and Reptile collection. From New Quay there are fast boat rides and trips to see dolphins, porpoises, sea birds and seals. From further round the coast are Dale Sea Safaris to see Puffins, Razorbills, Gannets and Fulmar as well as seals dolphins, porpoise and the elusive Manx Shearwaters.

Fishing - Licences to fish on the Teifi can be bought in Llanybydder, just 3 miles away and then you can cross over the road and fish from the river bank there, or anywhere else along the river. There is also Springwater Lakes a little further north, with 4 lakes all with access for the disabled angler.
