Situated between Harlech and Barmouth, Daflod is great base for a welsh holiday or break being ideally located for exploring and discovering the delights of Snowdonia and North Wales - and you will certainly not be short of things to do and see, whether it is activity and adventure you are looking for or the opportunity to relax and unwind.

Simple Pleasures
The diversity of Snowdonia’s landscape means there is an abundance of wildlife to be spotted while you are out and about, from dolphins to rare birds and plants.

The area boasts stretches of beautiful award winning clean and safe sandy beaches, perfect for swimmers, sunbathers or a leisurely stroll.

The attractive harbours are a delightful place to sit with a bag of fish & chips or outside a cafe or pub watching the world go by.

Biking
Scenic bike rides are plentiful in Snowdonia offering both challenging mountain and forest tracks and family friendly cycleways.

A 30 minute drive from Daflod is Coed y Brenin, the award winning forest and mountain bike centre boasting the best purpose built all weather tracks in the UK providing world-class mountain biking.

Both Coed y Brenin and Gwydyr Forest at Betws y Coed offer challenging & thrilling tracks through forest and woodlands as well as gentle bike rides suitable for the whole family.

The extensive network of traffic free cycleways offer gentle scenic rides and are fantastic for children to find their cycling legs.

Fishing
The diverse landscape of Snowdonia offers some of the most exciting and pleasurable fishing in the country. With lake fishing, river fishing, shore and sea fishing on offer you have plenty of choice.

Railways
The numerous steam trains in the area provide an ideal means of enjoying the stunning Snowdonia scenery. A great treat for children and train enthusiasts.

The diesel train which runs along the Cambrian Coast line is one of the most attractive coastal rail journeys anywhere in the UK, providing an enjoyable and relaxing way to explore the area. A truly memorable way to enjoy it is on a special ‘Cambrian by Steam’ day which runs on weekdays during August.

Family Fun
Plenty on offer to ensure every family member has an enjoyable holiday. With various forest and country parks, farm parks, indoor play centres, butterfly farms, safe clean sandy beaches, traffic free footpaths and cycleways, mini golf, as well as activities such as go-karting and dry slope skiing.

Walking
Snowdonia is renowned for its hill walking, rambling and mountain climbing, with Snowdon being the prime destination. However, there are numerous other challenging and awe-inspiring mountain ranges such as Y Moelfre and Y Rhinogau on the doorstep of Daflod and Cader Idris a short drive away.

Golf
Snowdonia is home to some of the most challenging and spectacular courses in Wales. Royal St David’s Golf Course in Harlech, just a 5 minute drive from Daflod, has been included in Golf Monthly magazine as being amongst the best 100 golf courses in Britain together with the courses at Nefyn and Aberdovey.
