If you have not visited the Applecross Peninsula before you will like most visitors be captivated by its landscape. The Gaelic name for the area of Applecross is 'a Chomraich' which means 'The Sanctuary' and the peace and tranquillity that the Applecross peninsula offers are in abundance.

Flora's House stands on its own behind the other houses in the township, in a private elevated position on the hillside. An old stone bridge and track leads up to the cottage. The track is fine to drive on with most family cars - however please be careful when driving in dark and wet conditions, as it does get muddy. There is ample space for parking your car adjacent to the garden gate.

The cottage is warm and welcoming with an open fire in the sitting room and a wood burning stove in the dining area. This cosy holiday cottage is an ideal retreat to get away from the stress of modern day living.

The cottage had a small fenced off front garden and there is a patio with a picnic table ideal for eating outdoors. The open fire in the sitting room and the wood burning stove in the dining area are welcome after a days challenging walks. Upstairs in the cottage there are three bedrooms, sleeping five people (4 adults and 1 child).

Accommodation:
This cosy rural cottage is warm and well equipped; the kitchen has a built in electric oven, ceramic hob, fridge, freezer, toaster, slow cooker, microwave, electric kettle and a stainless steel sink unit. There is a full range of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils in the cupboards.

The water for the whole township of Kenmore, comes from a fresh water Loch situated in the hills to the rear of the cottage. You will notice that the water is slightly peaty, which is normal to the area. We do have an ultra violet filtration system under the kitchen sink. (However - Some people like to purchase 3 - 4 very Large bottles from the supermarket for their drinking water).

The sitting room has a window seat taking full advantage of the panoramic views and is comfortably furnished with a sofa, two chairs and a T.V. with Digi box. There is a Baxi grate fire with a back boiler which will supply hot water and there is an electric immersion heater as well for back up. The dining area has seating for six at its yew dining table, it is a warm room with a wood burning stove.

One bathroom is down stairs and has a full sized bath, washbasin, w.c and heated towel rail.

Upstairs there is a charming light and airy twin bedroom. There is one double bedroom which has an en-suite bathroom. (The very small single bedroom is accessed through the double bedroom). Additionally there is a fold away travel cot in the small store room.

Within the shelter of the two porches at the front of the cottage there is a paved patio area with picnic table - so visitors can enjoy alfresco meals. To the side of the cottage is a small grass area with enough room for a couple of deck chairs to be erected in order to take in the glorious views.

Just outside the boundary fence you will find a heavy duty washing line and to the rear of the cottage is a narrow store room with an automatic washing machine. Cars can be easily parked next to the garden gate.

The cottage is rented out year round.
Property rental periods are generally a week, Saturday to Saturday. Checking in time is 3pm and checking out time is 10am.
