Property description
Gethinog is a very comfortable former farmhouse nestling in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. It is situated in a very quiet area, but only one mile from the centre of the village. There are two bedrooms - one double with an en-suite bathroom and one twin with an en-suite shower. Both rooms have colour T.V with Freeview, hospitality trays, central heating and information leaflets on the area. There is a choice of cooked breakfast, all cooked to order to ensure freshness.
An evening meal can be served if ordered in advance or after breakfast. Afternoon teas can be served in the garden. For those guests who prefer to go out in the evening for their evening meal, there are four pubs in the village. There is a parking area adjoining the garden. Many lovely walks are available directly from the house. We have a facility for storing up to four bicycles.
There are many books available to borrow which have details of walks and other things to do in the area.

Area description
Gethinog is situated in a very beautiful area in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is situated one mile from the centre of Talybont-on-Usk which is a very popular village and is on the Taff Trail and the Usk Valley Walk is very near. Brecon is only 6 miles away and is well known for its Jazz Festival in August. Hay-on-Wye the well known book town is about 30 minutes away by car and is where the Hay Book festival is held in May/June every year. The Brecon and Monouthshire Canal is only 5 minutes walk from the house and has lovely walks along its tow path. The Talybont Reservoir is slightly further away but within walking distance, and from which there is a lovely walk back into the village of Talybont-on-Usk.
Pen y Fan the highest mountain in South Wales which is very popular with walkers is
a short distance by car. Cardiff, Swansea, and the Dan y Orgof caves are all about one hours drive away. Abergavenny and the Sugar Loaf are half an hour away. Cycling is very popular in the area and there are sometimes organised cycle rallies in the area. There are several castles within an hour's drive including Raglan Castle, Caerphilly Castle and Castle Coch. Tintern Abbey and the lovely Wye Valley are about one hours drive. The area known as Waterfall Country Ystradfellte is also within easy driving. The Blaen-y-Glyn circuit with its own waterfalls are nearer.
