The Manifold Valley is one of the most beautiful areas of the Peak District. The deep valley is carved through limestone rock and is full of dramatic scenery, with cliffs, caves and woods. It is ideal for walking and cycling.

Within easy reach are the towns of Buxton (with its Opera House and annual Festival), Bakewell (with a weekly livestock market), Matlock (which has a range of visitor attractions, including a theme park)and Ashbourne (which has an outdoor market twice weekly).
Alton Towers is only 20 minutes drive.

If you are interested in history or stately homes then you will want to visit Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Sudbury, Eyam (the Plague Village) and Eyam Hall. All these are within easy reach.
