Hartsop Hall Cottages, Hartsop, Patterdale

The cottages are spacious, comfortably and traditionally furnished for a maximum of six people, and both have open fires. Throughout, the beds are of a high standard and extremely comfortable. They are made up with duvets and all bed-linen is provided. All the fuel - oil heating, electricity, coal for the open fires - is provided and is INCLUDED in the cost of your holiday rental. Both cottages have TV via FreeSat, and DVD players
Dovedale Cottage is a wing of Hartsop Hall, and has magnificent views across the meadows to Caudale Moor. The big farmhouse dining kitchen is very well equipped with all the usual amenities. The comfortable double-aspect lounge has an open fire. Also on the ground floor is a single bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC, all of which have been designed with the wheelchair user in mind.
On the first floor are three huge bedrooms, two with king-size beds and the third with twin beds. There is a family bathroom on this floor. Dovedale has oil-fired central heating.
Caudale Beck was itself built in 1699 and is a traditional Lakeland Farmhouse, nestling in seclusion at the end of its own driveway, separate from the Hall. The provision of creature comforts has not interfered with its traditional features and character appeal. The kitchen is well equipped, and has an oil-fired Rayburn, and big pine dining table. The old pantry provides a spacious utility room, where much of the domestic washing equipment is located. The lovely, spacious oak-beamed lounge has an open fire; there is also a separate dining room, which makes a quiet study aream if needed. On the first floor are four spacious bedrooms, two doubles and two singles, and an enormous family bathroom. Heating is provided by the Rayburn and by electric panel heaters.
