Haywain - Park Farm Cottages, Nr Tintagel

Park Farm Cottages are situated in the quiet village of Trewarmett near Tintagel in North Cornwall at the top of Trebarwith Valley which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

There are breath-taking panoramic sea views over Port Isaac Bay and Trebarwith Strand. Trewarmett consists largely of traditional slate built cottages, which were built to house farm workers and the quarrymen who worked in the slate quarries around this area. The village inn, where you can enjoy a meal or quiet drink, is a 2 minute walk away.
Park Farm Cottages are the lower and upper floors of a Cornish slate farmhouse which we restored and converted. Park Farm was a working Cornish farm from pre-17th Century right up until the latter half of the 20th Century, and parts of the cottages themselves date back to the 17th Century.
When we renovated the derelict buildings, to maximise living space, we converted the old farmhouse into 2 self-contained split levels which we call Haywain (the lower level) and Crowsnest (the upper level). They are built of local slate in the traditional Cornish style and have been lovingly restored by us, adding the modern conveniences without, we hope, spoiling their traditional charm. Facilities include free wireless Broadband Internet, Sky Digital TV and DVD/VCR/radio/CD players.
Haywain, the lower floor of the old farmhouse, sleeps up to 4 people in a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The conservatory leads into the well-equipped farm kitchen/diner. The lounge has an open slate fireplace, where you can enjoy a log fire. There is also a family bathroom and utility room. Haywain has a private garden and patio with garden furniture and barbecue, which overlooks fantastic views of the valley and coastline. Both the conservatory and double bedroom also enjoy the fantastic sea views.
