Property description
Backing onto woodlands, Infield House is a beautifully restored Victorian townhouse lovingly appointed with period furnishings, portraits and décor.
We are conveniently located just a few minutes' walk to St. Cuthbert's church near the start of the High Street with all its amenities.
The Market Square, Cathedral, Bishop's Palace and other historical buildings are just a brief stroll further along the colourful High Street.
Infield House has a spacious private car park at the rear of the house. Please note that it is a "no-smoking" guest house.
There is an elegant and comfortable guest lounge with bookcases well stocked with local and regional guides and other reading material.
Each of the guest rooms (one twin and two doubles) features an original Victorian fireplace.
One has a luxurious en-suite bathroom, complete with bidet and spa-bath facility, which can be hired at a small extra charge.
The others each have an en-suite shower and WC. They are each provided with tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV, luggage rack, clock-radio, hair-dryer and individual central heating controls.
We welcome dogs over 1 year old at no extra charge.

Area description
Wells Cathedral is the first completely English Gothic Cathedral and is situated in England's smallest city. Wells is a good touring centre for much of the South-West of England, including Bristol, Bath and as far as Salisbury. Set at the foot of the Mendip Hills, Wells itself is very picturesque.
Known as England's smallest city, Wells, situated at the foot of the Mendip Hills, has charm, interesting shops, decent restaurants and St. Cuthbert's Church, a parish church so impressive that it is often mistaken for a cathedral. Those things, alone, would make Wells worth a visit. But it has more to offer than just that.
The real jewel of the city is the walled precinct enclosing twelfth century Wells cathedral, the Bishop's Palace, an impressive, moated medieval stronghold which is the residence of the Bishop of Bath and Wells, and Vicar's Close, the oldest inhabited street in Europe.
The cathedral, itself, is notable for several unique features. Including its west front, which is said to be the finest collection of statuary in Europe, containing 356 individual figures carved out of the cathedral's warm, yellow Doulting stone. Inside, at the east end of the nave, you will see an unusual scissored arch design of striking beauty, which saved the cathedral's central tower from collapse. In 1338.
