Set in 240 acres of pasture and woodland Irton House Farm Cottages commands probably one of the finest views to be found in the Northern Lakes. It is a working sheep farm and was chosen as the venue for the BBC series 'One Man and His Dog'.
Within easy driving distance are Derwent Water, Thirlmere, Ullswater and the famous waterfall 'AiraForce', Buttermere, Loweswater and Crummock Water. The towns of Keswick and Cockermouth, the birthplace of the poet William Wordsworth, are also nearby.
The Robins(for two people)
This immaculate, self-contained apartment boasts some of the best views for you to enjoy during your stay at Irton House Farm. Attractively furnished throughout, the bedroom offers a choice of Super-King size double bed or twin beds. Relax in your bed overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake and the surrounding fells. The spacious lounge with TV/Video and dining table offers the best room to sit and enjoy the majestic views. Tastefully decorated, the fully fitted kitchen provides all your culinary needs with ceramic hob/electric oven, fridge freezer and microwave. This luxury apartment, situated adjacent to the farmhouse, offers first class "easy walking" accommodation but is not suitable for wheelchairs.
The Jinney (for two people)
A warm welcome is guaranteed in the peaceful secluded surroundings of The Jinney. The name originates from the Jin case wheel which powered the grinding of the corn. This lovely accommodation offers twin beds with your won personal 'postcard' view of the lake. Dine in the comfort of the traditional cottage style pine finished kitchen/diner and watch the sailing boats on Basenthwaite Lake. Relax in the cosey lounge/diner with a video of your choice. To wash away those walking aches and pains the shower room provides hot water for those in need!

The Granary (for two people)
This beautiful apartment with a large front porch leads to an attractive open-plan lounge/kitchen providing all your modern culinary conveniences. Enjoy your breakfast on a warm summer's morning on your private patio through the rear door from the kitchen. The twin bedded room (with en-suite shower room) looks across uninterrupted views of the farmland providing you with total privacy and peace.
Relax in your comfortable lounge overlooking the private patio.
The Swallows (for four people)
The Swallows combines all the luxury features of The Granary and The Jinney, to provide a fantastic self-catering apartment for four. Enjoy breakfasting with views of the sun rising over Skiddaw and relax on your private patio sipping cocktails as the sun sets. Tastefully decorated, the twin bedrooms (one twin bedroom and one double bedroom), provide comfortable surroundings to rest those weary limbs after a day's climb up the neighbouring fells or shopping in Keswick! The shower room is adjacent to the twin bedded room with constant hot water.
Enjoy relaxing in the lounge/kitchen in the Swallows.
The Martins (for six people)
This spacious self-catering apartment, offering accommodation for two couples or extended family, completes the alternatives available in our luxury complex. On the ground floor the entrance hall leads to a spacious lounge with colour TV/video and French windows opening onto your patio garden at rear where you can enjoy a barbeque on a balmy summer's evening. The separate fully equipped kitchen/diner with dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, ceramic hob and electric oven is photographed left. A large patio window opens to allow you to bask in the afternoon sun. One of the bedrooms, with twin beds, is situated on the ground floor with an en-suite shower room. Upstairs there is a large family bedroom with double bed, and en-suite bathroom. The additional twin bedded room is furnished in an attractive cottage style. The Martins is a fantastic way for a family or group of friends to spend a holiday break in the Lakes.

The Shepherd's Rest(for four people)
The Shepherd's Rest is a Lakeland stone Cottage, sleeping four people (two twin rooms), all arranged on the ground floor. The comfortable lounge has a large patio window with superb views over the Caldbeck Fells and Skiddaw Mountain. There is a fully equipped kitchen area and a spacious toilet/shower room with flat-deck shower.
Enjoy the stunning view from the lounge in the Shepherd's Rest.
Luxury Accommodation to suit your needs
All this luxury accommodation has been furnished throughout to a high specification, having been specifically designed to provide easy access for all our guests, including any with special needs*. And are easily accessible with parking immediately outside your front entrance. Choose any of the accommodation and you will Benefit from customer controlled central heating. This way you can maintain a comfortable temperature for you at no additional cost. A telephone is provided in each apartment for your added convenience.
Guests are requested not to smoke in the apartments. There are friendly owners in residence at the adjacent farmhouse. There are laundry facilities on site and access to these can be arranged with the owner on request. Well behaved dogs are welcome - for details please enquire when booking your holiday. Irton House Farm also provides a Games Area offering visitors access to Table Tennis, Pool Table and full size Snooker Table.

Miniature Steam Railway: the Valley of the trains runs from Ravenglass along the River Esk to Dalegarth. You can visit the Railway Museum before your journey and stop off at the cafes and shops on the stations.
The Historic Cathedral City of Carlisle is only 30 minutes drive away, with its interesting Castle and Museum.
Keswick Motor Museum (home to the Batmobile, FAB 1 from Thunderbirds, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and many more).
Mirehouse: Whatever the weather there's something to enjoy here, portraits, manuscripts, woodland playgrounds, Victorian schoolroom and nursery. Just a few of the many ways to enjoy your day here.
Keswick Theatre: a new purpose built theatre, which offers a wide range of performances throughout the year. Other famous places of interest within the locality are Wordsworth Cottage, Lodore Waterfalls, Hadrians Wall, Castlerigg Ancient Driuids Stone Circle.
