Tregony is considered the "Gateway to The Roseland" The exceptionally wide main street is a relic from the days when it was a busy port. The river was once navigable all the way to Tregony Bridge, 15 miles from the sea, long before the ports of Truro and Falmouth. These day the river is silted up but Tregony retains it charm and has an unusual clock tower, seventeenth century almshouse and the site of a twelfth century castle which is situated on Tregony Hill.
