Property description
We are a Family run hotel on the sea front of Oban next to the cathedral of St Columba. All but three single rooms are en-suite and some rooms have a sea view. The hotekl is fully licensed with two bars. there is a Swimming pool, Sauna, Spa, and steam room for use of the Guesta. There is still a smoking wing, to the back of the hotel but all seafront rooms are non-smoking. Pets are welcome with Dunollie woods to the back, and the beach to the front, for dog walking.
There is adequate private parking to front, and rear, of the hotel.
Children are most welcome, when sharing with their parents, in one of our three family rooms. We are open all year round.

Area description
Oban is known as the gateway to the Western Isles because of it's ferry terminal to the Islands. Oban is a great centre to explore the surrounding area. There are many forestry walks around Oban with stunning scenary. There is a local golf club at Glencruitten. Oban is great for its diving and Puffin diving centre can accommodate novices up to experts. Come to the Lancaster and use it to visit Mull and see Tobermory, the setting for the childrens programme, Balamory. Visit Glen Coe and see the site of the Massacre of The Macdonaldsby the Campbels. Visit the underground pump chamber at Cruachan pump storage power station. Pay a visit to the Oban Malt Whisky Distillery and take a walk up "Jacob's Ladder" to the view point at McAig's tower and get superb views of the surrounding area. Another walk is to the harbour and up to "Pulpit Hill" where more great views can be seen, but if you don't like walking - take the car.
Oban has lots to offer, Pubs, Restaurants and is a good shopping centre for the surrounding area, so come to the Lancaster and discover Oban.
