Property description
Little Cottage is a traditional detached cottage with a garage and small enclosed garden with patio and garden furniture.. It has a modern fitted kitchen with washer/dryer, dishwasher,microwave, dining table and chairs and all mod cons. The comfortable living room has sofa and easy chairs, television etc and open-tread stairs which lead to a small landing. Off this are 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other a single with second bed underneath. The bathroom has a bath with shower. The furniture and decor is in traditional style.
Top Cottage is a semi-detached one-story building with parking in front. There is an enclosed patio area with garden furniture and a large grassed area beyond. It has a modern fitted kitchen with dishwasher, microwave etc. The living room has two sofas, dining table and chairs, TV, gas fire and a modern poppy-themed decor. The large bedroom has a double bed with memory foam mattress and a sofa bed for two people.
Both cottages have gas-fired central heating and lovely views of the village and hills beyond

Area description
The Cottages are within the village and 100 yards from a very well stocked shop and the part-time post office. There are two pubs (one dog-friendley), both of which serve excellent food. The recreation ground is near the cottages as is the Church and river Wye with its famous Sheepwash Bridge.
Bakewell is 2 miles away - there is a riverside walk from Ashford to Bakewell. Chatsworth, with all its attractions is 5 miles away and Haddon Hall is the other side of Bakewell. Bakewell itself has many many small and interesting shops and has a cattle market and stall market on Mondays. Buxton, with its famous Opera House, and Castleton with its caves and ruined castle are 10 and 12 miles away. There is good walking both from the cottages (Monsal Head and Dale, Sheldon with its old lead mine, river and hill walks) and further away by car - Dove Dale, Edale and Mam Tor). The Monsal and Tissington Trails (old railway lines with lots of tunnels!) are nearby and bikes can be hired at Hassop Station - 2 miles away. Golf, horse riding, swimming pool nearby. Alton Towers is a hour away as are Manchester and Derby. Sheffield is about half an hour from Ashford.
