Southerndown is on the Heritage Coast with Heritage Coast Centre . There are long walks along the clifftops and panoramic views of the Bristol Channel. The Beach at Southerndown is safe for bathing and is enjoyed especially by surfers.The next local village is Ogmore-by -Sea with pony treking along the River Ogmore and sand dunes of Merthyr Mawr.The Southerndown Golf course access is also in Ogmore by the Pelican pub and restaurant.Ewenny pottery is 4 miles away.
