LLYGAD YR HAUL is within easy reach of Cardigan Boat Club and the 18 hole Cardigan Golf Course with it's stunning views across the estuary and the sea beyond.
There are numerous local visitor attractions including the RAINFOREST CENTRE with it's beautiful butterflies, the FIRE AND STEAM engine Museum, WILD WEST QUAD BIKES and, CILGERRAN WILDLIFE CENTRE.
POPPIT SAND, a beautiful expanse of sandy beach, is approximately six miles by road and can be easily reached on the far shore by crossing the Teifi over the bridge in Cardigan town and by passing through St. Dogmaels with its ancient ruined Abbey. Here the famous PEMBROKESHIRE COASTAL PATH begins where you can walk a small part, or all, of the 180 miles of stunning, magnificent and spectacular views of the coastline, finishing at Amroth on the Southern Coast.
In the other direction is the CARDIGAN BAY COASTAL PATH which stretches for 60 miles with it's equally, but very different spectacular views and wildlife. Starting at Cardigan and finishing at the Dovey estuary NATURE RESERVE AT YNYS LAS it links the towns and villages along the Cardigan Bay coastline where you can rest and enjoy their local hospitality.
Magnificent views of the rugged coastline of Cardigan Island can be seen from the nearby CARDIGAN FARM PARK which is just 1.5 miles along the road. The Island which is about 200 metres offshore is a native reserve owned by the West Wales Wildlife Trust and is populated a flock of wild Soay sheep. At the farm there is an array of friendly farm animals and also Wallabies, Llamas, Emus and much more.
CARDIGAN BAY is home to Bottle Nosed Dolphins and they are regular visitors to this part of the coast on warm calm days. A colony of Atlantic Grey Seals occupies the caves below Cardigan Farm Park and the seals are often seen at close quarters poking their heads above the sea with a quizzical look.
The surrounding area is steeped in history and the wild life, flora and fauna of Cardiganshire Coast and Country are quite incredible. There are numerous Red Kites and Buzzards and Otters in the wild, and hundreds of plants, including rare orchids, are to be found growing naturally in the uncluttered countryside around. Castles in the area abound and for the historian enthusiast there is a ruin to see every few miles.
There are two wide steps and a porch leading into the property which restricts the free use of wheelchairs. Once inside the layout is on a level surface, but although wide enough for a wheel chair there may be some width issues through the standard sized doorways and the twin room's private bathroom.
