Boroughbridge is halfway between London and Edinburgh and was a staging post for the stage coaches making this journey.Lock House is easily accessed from the A1 motorway and is an ideal overnight stop for people making this journey. It is also an easy 15/20 minute drive to Harrogate so with the easy access and available parking would be ideal accommodation for visitors to events at the Great Yorkshire Show Ground or visitors to Harrogate and the surrounding area. The town has a wide choice of Pubs and eating establishments all offering excellent lunches and evening meals and all within walking distance of your accommodation. For those with more time to spend in the area Aldborough with it's Museum and Roman Remains is an easy walk away and there are several local country and riverside walks which will enable visitors to enjoy the local area. Newby Hall, Ripon and Fountains Abbey are all just a short drive away and York can be easily accessed by car bus or train.
