Half an hour's drive from the bustling city of Swansea and a short drive from Ammanford, Neath and Carmarthen, there is plenty of good shopping, entertainment and cultural activity within easy reach by car. There are wonderful walks right from the doorstep with a golf course 2 minutes drive away, horse Harness Racing at the
Amman Valley Trotting Club at Tairgwaith a few minutes walk from the cottage (check racing dates), the Brecon Beacons National Park is 5 minutes drive, the National Show Caves and Europe's largest Dinosaur Park are half an hour's drive away.
There are magnificent gardens just over half an hour's away drive at Aberglasney House and Gardens, and the National Botanic Gardens of Wales.
A short drive to the south the magnificent Welsh coastline with fabulous sandy beaches along the Mumbles and Gower and the National Wetland Centre of Wales and Pembrey Country Park are all less than an hour's drive away.
There are also many castles to visit in the area such as the spectacularly situated Cerreg Cennen castle, Kidwelly Castle and others. This is an ideal central base for discovering all this part of Wales has to offer.
