Property description
Our six peaceful cottages, sleeping 2 to 14, are dotted around our working organic dairy farm, set in unspoilt countryside on the beautiful South Devon coast. All our cottages are just a few minutes walk from the coast path and some lovely remote beaches and coves, whilst the wilderness of Dartmoor is only a short drive away. The wonderful Erme estuary and Mothecombe beach, with over 130 acres of sand at low tide, is just a couple of miles away.
Explore the nearby picturesque towns of Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe or visit the historic port of Plymouth. Why not visit out of season and cosy down by a roaring log fire, or come and see the lambs in spring? Short breaks available November to March.
We put fresh local organic milk in each cottage for guests on arrival. Carswell is also the birthplace of the Well Hung Meat Company so our visitors can taste award winning local organic lamb and beef.
All the cottages are extremely well equipped with Digital widescreen TVs, DVDs, washing machines, dishwashers etc and all have private gardens with table and BBQ. Cots and high chairs available on request. Well behaved dogs are very welcome in The Lodge, Spring, Corner and Shepherd’s Cottages.

Area description
In the heart of the South Hams in Devon, Carswell Farm is surrounded by unspoilt countryside and the coastal path is right on the doorstep, providing stunning walks that lead to quiet beaches and picturesque villages.
The closest villages are Newton Ferrers, Noss Mayo and Holbeton. Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers are about two miles away, nestled on each side of the River Yealm where the boats float lazily on the water, sheltered by high wooded hillsides: charming villages with old fishermen's cottages and creekside pubs that serve good food (and welcome children and dogs). There is a Co-Op and a post office in Newton Ferrers.
This area is very popular for sailing, especially dinghies. Lovely, too, for walking, with paths that wind through the oak woods revealing breathtaking views at every turn.
It is a similar distance to Holbeton, which has two good pubs, a shop & a post office (open 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and weekend mornings).
The nearest large sandy beach is at Mothecombe, about 2 miles away, the historic city of Plymouth is only 11 miles and the A38 trunk road about 7 miles.

Access statement
Corner Cottage is suitable for guests with mobility problems. It has level access and a downstairs bedroom and bathroom. All our other cottages have steps in them.
