Alfriston has been a busy thriving village since 15th century. It is an ideal location for walkers, cyclists, historians, children or anyone looking for a quiet relaxing holiday.

Walkers: The South Downs Way is 100yds away and there are many walks leaving from the house.

Historians: Alfriston has several mediaeval buildings. There is the famous St. Andrews Church which is often called "The Cathedral of the Downs" and the thatched Clergy House which was the first building purchased by the National Trust.

The Bloomsbury Group loved this area and you can visit their house, Charleston Farmhouse and their paintings in Berwick Church. If you like towns Lewes and Brighton are nearby.

Children: The Zoo-park Drusillas is a mile away. There is a playground at the end of the road and Eastbourne with it's beaches is a short drive away.

If you are less energetic Alfriston has many pubs, tea-shops, restaurants, gift shops, a well-stocked General Store with Post Office, Steamer Trading Cookshop and an excellent bookshop.
