Peedie, one bedroom cottage with log burning stove, a complete 'get away from it all' romantic retreat, yet within walking distance to the fishing town of Stromness, in the Orkney Islands.
Outstanding views over to the island of Hoy. A pleasant 5 minute walk to the shore.
Logs provided for fire, and welcome pack of local produce.
Stromness is a peedie(small) fishing village in the Orkney Isles. Many archaeological sites to visit, such as Skara Brae and Maeshowe. A small island with much to offer, a weeks stay is almost to short to do your visit justice!! Orkney is made up of 40 islands the mainland being the largest. If you visit once you are guaranteed to want to return to see more of our beautiful islands. Ideal for diving in the Scapa Flow, coastal walking trails, fishing - NO permit required!! Long summer days, with a midnight golf competition on the longest day. Amazing views at every turn, and sunsets thrown in for free. Many music events throughout the year, folk, blues, jazz with St Magnus festival a major highlight. Our local food is a attraction to foodies which is used in many of our restaurants and bars, where you can also try our local brew!! I challenge anyone not to be impressed with what Orkney has to offer.
