Property description
The two ground-floor bedroom suites can each be set up with either a super king-bed or twin singles and are fully en-suite, with power-showers, wc and whb. Each bedroom leads into it's own private sun lounge: facing west these have spectacular views and are fitted with easy chairs, occasional table and a flat-screen TV. The two bedrooms are separated by a staircase and have no shared walls - you are assured total privacy.
Turn left at the top of the short staircase and you enter a modern kitchen, with top quality German fittings,Wedgwood china and a dining area with glass-topped table. Turn right and you are in a large lounge, with two two-seater sofas, occasional table and a large flat screen Tv with DVD player/recorder. There is also a Bose stereo.
The upstairs rooms share the same views as the bedrooms- a panorama over fields, lochs and hills.

Area description
Rickla is situated virtually in the centre of the Orkney mainland, and though only ten minutes from either Kirkwall or Stromness, is in an area which feels miles from anywhere. Your windows overlook 40 acres of our own land where sheep and cattle graze during the summer; the nearest main road is over a mile away along a single-track road and the area is a network of tiny roads, winding around the fields and everywhere spectacular views over rolling countryside.
A walkers paradise, Loch Harray is half an hour away, Maeshowe a little longer but the whole area is intersected by footpaths and it is easy to do a different walk every day.
As a base for exploring Orkney by foot, cycle or car there is simply no-where more central.
