Inverness City is only 7 miles away (approx a 10 minute drive by car), and bus stops are located very nearby. The city of Inverness "capital of The Highlands" has plenty to offer our visitors - excellent shopping, outdoor and indoor sports facilities, theatre, cinema and plenty of pubs and restaurants to cater for everyone.

Picturesque Loch Ness, with the romantic Urquhart Castle overlooking the loch, is only about a half-hour drive and has a fantastic visitors centre with a viewing room of the loch. There are also many other castles and historic buildings to visit - too many to name!

You can sample the delights of some of the Highlands' many famous whisky distilleries on the Scotch Whisky Trail. The nearest, Ord Distillery situated in Muir of Ord, is only 10 minutes drive from Kilcoy Chalets.

Numerous golf courses can found in and around the area. Fishing is always high on the agenda of some of our regular guests with so many well-stocked lochs nearby.

A visit to the Isle of Skye takes you through some of our spectacular scenery and makes for a great day out! And Glen Affric - often referred to as "the most beautiful glen in Scotland" is magnificent. Take your camera as there is an abundance of wildlife nearby in the surrounding area - buzzards, red kite, deer, the occasional pine martin and red squirrel.
