What a location! 35 minutes from the heart of Edinburgh via a straight road in, 60 minutes from the buzz of Glasgow. But here you are on the Pentland Hills in peace and tranquillity surrounded by fields of grazing sheep. Head west for about 90 mins for the grandeur of the hills and lochs around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. Head south and within 30 minutes you will be in the rolling hills of the Borders. Head east for the seaside, the Concorde experience, seabirds galore, and the luscious landscape of East Lothian, or explore Midlothian much closer at hand with its wooded walks and gothic chapel. Head north east up to St. Andrews, less than 90 mins drive and return via the quaint fishing villages. Ot be in Stirling within the hour and look out over the ramparts. You could spend 3 months here and hardly touch the surface of all the things to do from here. And the great thing is that should it rain you can escape into one of the myriad of attractions easily accessible from here and hope to emerge in sunlight.
