Slack Cottage has two individually furnished rooms. All guest rooms have some of the finest panoramic views in Central Lakeland. We offer sumptuous breakfasts using locally sourced fresh produce; all special diets catered for. Wray and Slack are both Viking words which testify to the History of the area. High Wray Village,(no facilities)is 200 meters from our Cottage. You may walk from our door down to the lake or up onto the surrounding mountains. Within a 10 mile radius you can visit; Hill Top, the home of Beatrix Potter, Brantwood,the home of Ruskin also the homes of Wordsworth at Grasmere and Rydal. You can catch a steamer on Windermere and Coniston Water and a steam train at Lakeside. There are several Museums and interesting houses open to the public. We will be happy to advise you while you are staying with us. Both Ambleside and Hawkshead have a variety of interesting shops, cafes and restaurants.
