Starboard Cottage was built over 250 years ago, when the town was a small fishing villlage. The cottage has recently undergone a total refurbishment, and has been restored to an exceptional standard, offering modern facilities whilst still retaining that old world charm.
Truly ideal for a romantic break.
The cottage is entered from the High Street through the front door. There is a step down into the cosy sitting room, which has a beamed ceiling and a decorative Victorian fireplace. There is a T.V. with DVD player, two comfy armchairs, and a bureau containing leaflets on local places of interest. There is a selection of games, a first aid kit and sewing repair items.
The kitchen, which leads from the sitting room, is very compact but well designed with electric cooker, microwave and fridge. The stable door leads to a small outside area, which overlooks the car park and sea.
Off the kitchen, through a narrow passageway, where there are coat-hooks and a brolly (just in case!) is the bathroom. There is an over bath shower with glass screen, wash basin, W.C. and shaver point. Hot water is from a combi-gas boiler.
Bath and hand towels, flannels and towelling robes are provided.
Toilet rolls, hand soap, bath creme, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are also provided for your convenience.
The stairs are accessed from the sitting room. Please note: The stair case is very narrow with small treads, in keeping with a property of this age and type.
Upstairs is the breakfast room and bedroom.
The breakfast room has a sea-view to the east. In summer it is possible to watch the sun rise out of the sea.(For very early risers!)
The bedroom over looks the High street. The double bed has a high quality matress. In the room there is a double wardrobe, chest of drawers and two bedside cupboards. All bedding and linen is provided, there is a full length mirror and a good quality hairdryer.
