Steele's Mill Self Catering Kings Meaburn Penrith

A newly-restored corn mill sits in a quiet, idyllic setting on the banks of the River Lyvennet. The Mill has stood on the present site since at least 1327 and every effort has been made to preserve its history, including retaining the original mill workings such as mill stones, applewood cogs and mill gearing. The three storey building has been sensitively restored by local craftsmen using local materials. Steele's Mill is family run with a friendly welcome and service. An ideal base for an active outdoor holiday or the perfect retreat away from the rat race.

Kitchen and Dining Room:
Furniture and stairs made by local craftsmen, from home grown oak, grown on the Addison family farm
A hand made modern kitchen including a Rangemaster cooker with granite work surfaces. Heated beautifully with underfloor heating, throughout the ground floor.
Features the original mill workings encased behind glass.

Walk out from the sitting room on to the viewing balcony where you can relax, take in the
wonderful views and become acquainted with the inhabitants of the river, which include Kingfisher, dipper, brown trout, heron and occasional otter.
You may be lucky and see a red squirrel making his way through the woods.

In the sitting room, four mill stones have been restored and set in to the floor, they are surrounded by a beautiful crafted oak floor.
The lounge has Satellite TV, DVD, ipod docking station and stove gas fire.

The Twin Bedroom on the first floor is snugly positioned above the kitchen, and has it's own ensuite bathroom with wc, wash hand basin and walk in shower.

The master bedroom , with it's own en suite is on the second floor with a king size bed, goose down duvets, comfy chairs and stunning views of the river.

The Mill has a private parking/garden/patio area.
The original water wheel is a feature on the east of the mill.
