The Beckford Inn & Restaurant sits on the northern edge of the beautiful Cotswolds, a stunning 18thC Coaching Inn set in open countryside just off the A46.
Under new ownership since 2009, this lovely old Freehouse is being upgraded and improved in every area and this year we won our first award from the prestigious international travel company 'Les Routiers' with the wonderful title of National Country Retreat of the Year 2011.
At The Beckford Inn you will discover a beautiful new restaurant with great Chef’s using only the finest, freshest local produce. On a sunny day relax in our lovely gardens edged by a newly discovered brook or enjoy our old pub bar with a roaring fire, fine wines and real ales - the same superb cuisine is served throughout, as well as some true British pub classics. You can also stay with us in comfort in one of our hotel rooms, many with lush new furnishings & luxurious bathrooms. The Beckford is also an ideal Business Conference Centre for meetings, functions and now with free WiFi and lots of facilities. We are also a popular venue for country weddings in our new Grand Marquee with stunning views over the valley and the pretty village Beckford.
Set in an idyllic Cotswold location which is so convenient to so many places - a few minutes from the M5, 20 minutes to Cheltenham and the Race Course, or ½ hour to Stratford upon Avon & about 45 minutes to the Malvern Hills. And of course many of the beautiful villages and market towns of the Cotswolds are on the doorstep.
Finest, Freshest, Local Produce for Great Food!!
At The Beckford Inn we pride ourselves on the quality of our food. We are surrounded by some of the most fertile soil in the country and have a wealth of local produce to choose from. On the edge of the vale of Evesham - famous for the finest English Asparagus. Lush green fields feed herds of Hereford Cattle for the best Char-grilled Steaks!! Fresh lamb often comes from the village of Overbury - just over the hill. Whilst our local butcher turns Gloucester Old Spot Pork into simply the best sausages for our Bangers & Mash with Rich Onion Gravy! Obviously seafood comes from a little further, often down the M5, but the British shores offer great bounty, allowing us to prepare amazing dishes from West Country Lobster, Cromer Crabs, Scallops, Mussels & more. We even offer an amazing Cheese Board using some of the best British Artisan Cheeses. Enjoy the finest Stilton’s or try a tangy Dorset Coastal Cheddar or local Hereford Hop, Somerset Brie or Cornish Yarg.....
In 2009 we began to grow some of our own produce too - fresh herbs, fruits from strawberries to rhubarb, cherry tomatoes to courgettes, or plums, apples, cherries or pears - we have already planted 20 new fruit trees. And each year we plan to grow more, as long as we can keep the rabbits away!
Join us for breakfast, a light pub lunch, fabulous Cotswold Cream Tea or a gourmet meal!! But always be sure we are using the best local produce to bring you the finest seasonal delights.
Great Accommodation Too!!
Recently we won AA **** approval for our accommodation. But at The Beckford Inn we are planning to go futher and are currently restyling each bedroom to produce a truly luxurious oasis - where tradition, style & modern comforts combine to give you a great night's sleep.

History and The Neighbourhood
The Beckford Inn is a beautiful old Freehouse on the A46 between Evesham and Tewkesbury set on the northern corner of the stunning Cotswolds on the border of Gloucestershire & Worcestershire. Just outside the lovely village of Beckford with history dating back to a local Roman settlement from 70AD. Many links to Evesham Abbey, mentioned in the Domesday Book and Rumours abound in the area of battles and the escape of King Charles the first in the Civil War.
The Beckford Inn began life as an old Coaching House, the earliest part of this Cotswold stone and brick building dates back to 1750 and one of the original buildings on the Tewkesbury to Evesham Road, and named The New Inn.
Today The Beckford Inn is still an important landmark being an ideal base for a day at the races - just 8 miles from Cheltenham Race Course. For the vintage car enthusiast there is Prestcot Speed Hill Climb or Gloucester & Warwickshire Railway for the steam engine buff. There are also many National Trust properties, historic houses, gardens and castles - Sudeley Castle being only 15 minutes away.
The beautiful town of Cheltenham Spa is 20 minutes away and Stratford Upon Avon. The stunning Malvern Hills are about 45 minutes as is the Forest of Dean.
The Beckford Inn is truly a Great British Country Inn & Restaurant and we look forward to welcoming you soon.
