THE BOTHY, BY BLAIRGOWRIE

Jean and Dave welcome you to their comfortable country cottage. Situated in the heart of rural Perthshire, it is surrounded by trees and farmland. A quiet scenic setting midway between Loch Marlee and Loch Clunie, it is an ideal centre for touring,walking, cycling, fishing, skiing and bird-watching. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area including deer, ospreys, otters and red squirrels, some of which are often seen from the lounge window. There are easy to moderate walks locally, more strenuous ones within driving distance and on and off road cycle tracks nearby. Famous rivers,lochs and golf courses are all in this locality, as well as castles, palaces and gardens.

This is a 4 star non-smoking cottage, all on one level, which accommodates up to 5 people. It is fully equipped and linen including towels is provided. Newmill is situated on the banks of the river Lunan midway between lochs Clunie and Marlee. It is accessed down a private road 3 miles from Blairgowrie and 9 miles from Dunkeld.

The accommodation consists of an L-shape lounge/dining room with open fire, digital TV,video player and DVD player. The fitted kitchen includes fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble drier, microwave and electric cooker. The bathroom has bath, shower cubicle, toilet and hand wash basin. There is also a separate cloakroom with toilet and basin.

The first bedroom has a double bed and the second has 3 single beds. Both rooms have fitted wardrobes and ample drawer space. Duvets are provided on all beds and there are plenty of additional blankets and electric blankets for any chilly nights. There is also a Z-bed suitable for a child and a cot and high chair can be provided.

A French window opens from the lounge onto a patio and enclosed garden where there is a BBQ and garden furniture. There is ample parking space adjacent to the cottage.

The cottage is adjacent to Newmill farmhouse and to an old watermill where the mill-lade incorporates an eel catching system. The cottage is carpeted throughout and is heated by storage heaters plus an open coal fire. Water is heated on off-peak tariff.
The charge for electricity is payable at the end of the let according to the meter reading and at Hydro-Board rates. Coal is provided. A non-returnable deposit of £50 is payable on booking with the balance due 3 weeks prior to arrival. Bookings are from 2.00pm Saturday to 10.30am the following Saturday. Recycling and care of the environment is supported here. Walkers, Cyclists and skiiers welcome.

The nearest shops and post office are in Blairgowrie where there is also a recreation centre. There is a limited bus service to and from Blairgowrie and Dunkeld and a frequent service from Blairgowrie to Dundee and Perth. Train service is from Perth, Dunkeld or Dundee.
