The Old Barn

High quality Self-catering accommodation in the stunningly, beautiful Royal Forest of Dean. The Old barn will comfortably sleep 9 people + a cot. We are conveniently located in the rural hamlet of Viney Hill, a short drive away from Lydney town, off the A48. The Old Barn is a superbly appointed former barn and an exceptionally comfortable and cosy 4 bed-roomed detached conversion with views, (from the large and spacious balcony), overlooking the Forest of Dean and where the sheep frequently amble through Viney Hill.

Accommodation Details
The lounge has Sky Plus TV, DVD and video and although spacious, has a cosy atmosphere assisted by the wood-burning stove; (with a complimentary basket of logs for your convenience) and thereafter at an nominal price per basket). It is from this room, that the French doors open on to the balcony which is ideal for alfresco eating, which comes complete with a wooden table and chairs with parasol, patio warmer and chiminea, when you may wish to barbeque on those warm, balmy nights. The balcony is also perfect upon which to eat breakfast or to simply relax with a book , a glass of chilled white wine and enjoy the magnificence of the Forest. “State-of-the- art” describes the kitchen admirably, with built-in high quality appliances - electric cooker, ceramic hob, stainless steel extractor over, dish-washer, microwave and electric built in coffee maker and television, also washing machine and fridge/freezer. Black granite work tops and island completes the kitchen, which comes fully equipped for ease of convenience. The dining area of the kitchen/diner seats 8 people, whilst the kitchen island seats a further 4. All the bedrooms are well proportioned with bedroom 1 having a double bed, with wardrobe, chest of draws and two bedside cabinets, along with its own en-suite and completed with TV and Sky, DVD player and video. Bedroom two has twin beds and similar furniture, whilst bedroom 3 again has twin beds, but with an additional single bed if/when required. The fourth bedroom has a double bed with a fitted wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets. There is a pleasant, large family bathroom, with wash basin, loo and bath with a shower over.

The Old Barn benefits from electric and Oil Central Heating , (along with the wood-burning stove). Also available for your use whilst on holiday is a highchair, stair-gate, and travel-cot, along with a good, extensive and varied selection of books, DVD’s, video’s and board games for young and old alike including a mini Hi-Fi system with CD player/radio.
