The Old Schoolhouse, Errogie

Situated within the small hamlet of Errogie, the Old Schoolhouse has views over Loch Mhor and the Monadhliaths. It has a wonderful atmosphere and makes a perfect base to explore the Scottish Highlands and Loch Ness. A teacher's home for over a hundred years, the Old Schoolhouse adjoins the Old School (now home to the owners). It has been simply and tastefully modernised retaining much of its original character and sleeps four in one double and one twin-bedded room. A box-hedged front garden is for sole use of guests, while the rear garden, run as an organic small-holding, is shared by guests and owners alike.

Seventeen miles away, Inverness is within easy reach for shopping, theatre, cinema and leisure facilities.

We are child-friendly, as 'eco' as possible, and flexible as to your requirements, so please contact us for weekend/short breaks, or if you need any help in planning your stay. The absence of WiFi, mobile phone coverage and TV reception makes for a quiet holiday away from it all, and although guests are welcome to use WiFi,internet and phone facilities at the Old School if they wish, the ample library, large selection of games and DVDs, and opportunity for painting classes from a local artist provide alternative entertainment for rainy days.

Comfortable lounge with wood-burning stove, CD, DVD player and radio. selection of DVDs, books and games. (Please note there is no TV reception at present, and mobile phone signal in Errogie is weak.) Views across garden to loch and hills.

Large kitchen/dining room overlooking rear garden with electric hob and oven, microwave, fridge and freezer, washing machine, all the usual kitchen utensils, ironing facilities.

Double bedroom with Victorian fireplace, beautiful views.

Twin bedroom overlooking rear garden.

Cot, highchair and hairdryer available.

Bathroom with bath (shower over), wash-hand basin, radiator with towel rail, toilet. Electricity, oil central heating, logs and bed linen are all provided.

Garden with box hedges, garden furniture and barbecue, and washing line.
Note that the front and side garden is for the sole use of guests. You are welcome to share the rear garden with the owners. No smoking and sorry, no pets.

Travelling from the east on B862 ... When entering Errogie, just past the church on your right, you will see a postbox. The Old School and Schoolhouse are on your right just after the postbox. Parking is available at the bottom of the Schoolhouse garden.
