The ONLY hotel in the Elan Valley

Set in the tranquil beauty of the Elan Valley, our 11 bedroom hotel is family run and offers excellent accommodation and food. It was built at the in the same age as the great Victorian dams and lakes which draw people and wildlife to this area of Wales. Weddings, group bookings, mid week break offers, conferences, birthday parties and celebrations...we do it all with great care and attention. Our bar, restaurant and beer gardens are open to the public, so call in for some real ale or a freshly ground cup of coffee and see what we offer. Specialist breaks for bird watchers, mushroom foragers, photographers and artists are very popular.

The hotel has recently been completely refurbished and all of our rooms are ensuite and tastefully decorated. There is free wi-fi throughout the hotel.

Relax in the beer gardens and small orchard while Red Kites circle overhead. This is a very peaceful location and ideal for walkers, cyclists, bird watchers and those of us who just enjoy tranquility and beauty in nature.

Both our restaurant and bar menus have grown in recent years and we now offer a much greater choice to vegetarians, such as garlic mushroom filled crepes in butter sauce enriched with mature Welsh Cheddar and leeks. This and many of our other recipes, such as game faggots in wild mushroom sauce or lamb cooked with vintage port and rosemary, are exclusive to the hotel. Our food is locally sourced as far as possible, offering lamb, mutton and Bob's Gold Award winning pork sausages amongst other delicious temptations.

The hotel frequently hosts small exhibitions of local art, photography and craft work, with some items offered for sale. Please visit our website for details of our current exhibition.

Our guests return year after year, many becoming friends or part of the fabric of the hotel. We have a great team of staff who are all welcoming and will help in any way they can, you only need to ask. Oh, and our beds are very comfortable :-)

If you are travelling by motorhome we have joined an overnight stopover scheme. You can park your vehicle in our secure car park, surrounded by farm land and nature, for just £5 per night.
