We have 2 large family sized guest bedrooms, one double and one twin bedded, which share their own private shower room – ideal for a family or group of friends. An air bed can be put into either or both rooms if younger children wish to share with their parents. Both rooms are fully equipped with flatscreen freeview TV/DVD players and tea/coffee making facilities.
On your arrival we will offer you tea and biscuits, or, for £3.00 per head, a traditional cream tea with fresh scones and local clotted cream and jam, or a selection of home or locally made cakes. (If you are staying for 3 days or more, your first cream tea will be free!)
Breakfast of your choice (including of course the traditional full English) will be served between 8.30 and 9.30 in our spacious dining room, or, weather permitting, in the garden. If you wish to eat earlier, just let us know beforehand.

The variety of things you can do in North Devon is really too huge to mention but here are just a few:
Walking:
Apart from the rural walking, there are also the long sandy beaches of the stunning North Devon and North Cornwall coasts and the moors - Dartmoor and Exmoor are only a short distance away, plus fishing, golf, horseriding and many other activities. Then also of interest:
The Tarka Trail:(Nearest point to us is at Torrington – 10 minutes drive) This covers 180 miles in a looping route through North and Mid Devon. From the rugged Atlantic Coast, the estuaries of the two rivers of Tarka the otter fame, the Rivers Taw and Torridge, through rural Devon Countryside onto the northern Slopes of Dartmoor, and the source of the River Taw. The Trail between Barnstaple, down the Taw, upriver to Bideford, following the Torridge to Torrington, takes the route of a disused railway line and is particularly suited for both cyclists and walkers.
Halsdon Wood: (Approximately 10 minutes drive) Halsdon nature reserve is an attractive valley of deciduous woodland and pasture containing a 2.5km stretch of the River Torridge. It has been a Devon Wildlife Trust nature reserve since 1983. The Torridge is one of the most important rivers in England for otters – with luck and patience you may be able to spot this beautiful but elusive creature and/or possibly a kingfisher. The river and woods are also home to a large variety of birds including woodpeckers, buzzards and ducks. A riverside hide provides information and your best opportunity of seeing the nature reserve’s wildlife.
North Devon & North Cornwall Coastline (Between 30 minutes and 2 hours drive). Stunning cliffs and beautiful beaches…need we say more?!
Local Attractions:
The Plough Arts Centre, Torrington Offers a wide programme of events including films, plays, live events, workshops etc.
Dartington Crystal (10 minutes drive) Learn the history of the world-famous glassmaking factory and see a demonstration of glassmaking and engraving. Also hands-on activities.
Torrington 1646. Travel back in time and see how people lived in the 17th century.
Even closer can be found the RHS Gardens at Rosemoor. Here you'll find year round courses and demonstrations specifically tailored for the gardening enthusiast!
Or, just around the corner, there's The Beaford Arts Centre, is always worth a visit!
Houses & Gardens to visit (This is just a small selection - there are many more!):
Arlington Court (Approx. 40 minutes drive)
Broomhill Art & Sculpture Garden (Approx. 40 minutes drive)
Docton Mill Gardens (Approx. 30 minutes drive)
Hartland Abbey & Gardens (Approx. 30 minutes drive)
Marwood Hill Gardens (Approx. 40 minutes drive)
