Thornton Lodge offers luxurious Country House 5 star bed and breakfast (dinner by arrangement), from an idyllic setting above the River Ure in Wensleydale. Located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park we provide a peaceful haven amid fine period features and modern comforts.

We are open March to November, with the house available for group bookings of 6 or more guests during winter. We are closed at Christmas.

Thornton Lodge has 9 individually styled rooms. Tastefully decorated in keeping with the Edwardian era, the rooms are furnished with period wardrobes and dressing tables, blending these antiques with modern sofas from which to watch TV in comfort.

One of our suites is our wheelchair accessible room. Again, antiques blend with modern touches, including an ultra modern wheelchair accessible bathroom, incorporating a large accessible shower tray.

For that special occasion we have 2 four poster rooms. Each has a luxury ensuite with shower over the bath. White Company toiletries, robes, luxury pocket sprung mattresses on 6 ft beds, ironing board, hair dryer, dvd player, wine cooler, a well stocked hospitality tray and lots of other extras!

Ground floor double room from £35pppn—this room can be occupied as a single without supplement.

Wheelchair accessible suite from £45pppn based on 2 sharing– equipped with a six foot super king/twin.

Ground floor suite from £50pppn based on 2 sharing. Up to 3 children can share this room with adults at a cost of £15 per child for 1 night, £10 per child per night for 2 or more nights. Under 5’s are charged at £5 per night. Babies in cots are free.

Four poster rooms from £55pppn based on 2 sharing.

1st floor rooms with kingsize beds from £45pppn based on 2 sharing.

1st floor double from £40pppn—this room can be occupied as a single without supplement.

There is a minimum stay of 2 nights over Easter and on Bank Holiday weekends.
