Tigh-na-mara is situated on the shores of Loch Long, close to Loch Duich and Loch Alsh. The cottage, which is in the village of Dornie, has views across Loch Long and Loch Alsh to the Isle of Skye and the Cuillin Hills. Tigh-na-mara can sleep up to 8 people. It is decorated and furnished to a high standard and is a very comfortable family home. Dornie is an excellent and picturesque base from which to see the Western Highlands and the Isle of Skye. Eilean Donan Castle is within walking distance of Tigh-Na-Mara Cottage - sunsets here are often unforgettable.
ACCOMMODATION:
On the ground floor: The kitchen/dining room is fitted with an oil-fired Stanley stove and an electric hob for use in the summer. There is a microwave, dishwasher and fridge freezer and a well equipped kitchen with most utensils to cook and serve great meals. The kitchen table can seat 8. The kitchen looks out onto the well-kept garden at the rear of the property with borders, a lawn and various shrubs.
The sitting room has an open fire and comfortably seats 6 people - with 4 easy chairs and a sofa. There is a colour television with Freeview, DVD, CD and radio, playing cards and a good supply of games. There is also wireless Broadband. The bookshelf contains a good selection of books plus a number of Ordnance Survey maps of the area and of the Isle of Skye.
In the utility room there is a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron plus board and the usual range of cleaning supplies and equipment. There is picnic equipment, plus thermos’s and a rucksack.
There is a ground floor bedroom at the back of the cottage with two single beds with a shower, basin and lavatory next door. The front room is equipped with bunk beds and a sofa bed and can be used as a 4th bedroom or alternatively a TV room. It has a TV and a DVD player.
On the first floor:
There are two bedrooms and a bathroom. The main bedroom has a double bed and wash basin and the other bedroom has 2 single beds. Both bedrooms have excellent views over Loch Long to the Isle of Skye.
Outside:
There are gardens to the front and rear of the cottage and, on the other side of the road, a small Loch garden on the water's edge which has additional lawns and a seat.
Food and Drink
The village shop in Dornie is only 100 yards away and is well stocked. There is a Cooperative store in the Kyle of Lochalsh which offers a wide range of provisions etc.
Location
Dornie is easily reached from both Inverness and Fort William - it is located on the A87 Invergarry to Kyle of Lochalsh road. There is a railway station at Kyle of Lochalsh with service connections to Inverness. For visitors wanting to explore the Isle of Skye, the Skye Bridge is only 10 miles away from Tigh-na-mara. Alternatively, there is a seasonal ferry crossing from Glenelg on the mainland, to Kylerhea on the Isle of Skye.

From £540.00 per week during high season July to September, £440.00 per week during the rest of year
Other Information
Smoking is not permitted in the cottage. There is space for one car beside the house and further parking is available 150 yards away. Information packs provided cover walks in the area, local leisure activities, restaurants and full details of equipment in the cottage. Pets are not allowed.
