Trehenlie is almost on Polzeath Beach on the New Polzeath side and makes a beautiful location to explore the rest of North Cornwall’s famous locales and beaches. Use the map to scan around and find...
Camel Trail (start in Wadebridge): 20 miles of gentle cycling with diverse landscapes.
There are many first class golf courses in the area and Cornwall has its fair share of coastal courses, St Enodoc and Constantine Bay Golf courses are both challenging with breathtaking Atlantic views. Port Isaac / Port Gaverne: Historic Fishing village and still a working port today. Port Isaac has a charm like no other and the village has a certain magic. You can indulge in the many first class restaurants and make a real day out. Polzeath: If you enjoy surfing or want to give it a try this is one of the most consistent and safest surf beaches in Cornwall. No need to bring a board or wetsuit as all you need can be hired right on the beach. Surf lessons are available too. For more experienced surfers Trebarwith Strand has an excellent wave and at low tide it has to be one of the most impressive beaches in Cornwall.
Experience the beautiful dunes of Trebetherick and Damer Bay and walk in the footsteps of John Betjeman, the inspiration for his poems is clear. Rock is just around the corner from Damar and has one of the best sailing centres in Cornwall and it is here that you can catch a ferry across the estuary to Padstow. The quaint unspoiled little village of Port Quin is steeped in history and folklore. The village stood deserted for almost a hundred years as all the fisherman were lost at sea. the old fisherman’s houses are still in evidence although empty they can be found if you look hard enough.. Kayaking and coasteering are activities that operate from this delightful location where the caves can be explored from your kayak, all safety equipment is provided. This is also a good place to enjoy the coastal paths. Bodmin Moor: If hiking is your thing or you would like to experience some true wilderness the moors are just a short drive away. Roughtor and Brown Willy (the highest point in Cornwall) are stunning examples of granite tors. Depending on the time of year it is possible to walk all day up here and not see another soul. The landscape is punctuated with historic landmarks and there are numerous stone circles dating back to neolithic times. There are many historic botanical gardens in Cornwall often attached to elegant country houses. A great way to spend the warm days walking amongst exotic plants unique to the British Isles. Make sure you visit The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Trebah Gardens. Lanydrock House has a magnificent garden as does Pencarrow House near Bodmin, these also play host to Summer music festivals. The Eden Project is a great family day out and certain to keep both adults and children entertained.
