Waggon House

The Waggon House is at Pennant Farm. You turn off the lane just after Endellion Church to go down a drive. From this, you look along the dramatic coast of North Cornwall, and over the lovely village of Port Isaac.
The Waggon House was built alongside a fine two storey barn built for grain above and stock below. This double hipped building is of exceptional quality, has fine ashlar granite blocks to the south with good quoins, brick soldier arches and was probably built towards the end of the eighteenth century. Alongside this was built, as its name suggests, a large long open shed for carts and large wagons which was then extended further to the rear. Beyond this, was a stone barn for horses. The whole makes a large, good looking and interesting house, and the surroundings live up to it. The site is ancient, but in the 18th century the buildings were spread round the farmyard. This is itself charming- and ensures privacy. This is a comfortable house in a popular part of Cornwall.

The Waggon House was renovated during 2007 by experienced designers and is large and spacious. The layout is based around the large main kitchen/ family room, which has a long wall of windows recessed behind the granite pillars outside. The ceiling stretches right up past timber beams to the corners of the roof. This room has TV with DVD, FreeView and CD player and a sofa bed. There is a table in the window and kitchen with electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/drier. Down a few stairs and there is a bathroom with shower over bath, a store room and a bedroom with twin beds and views over fields. A further bedroom with twin beds is off the living room. The third, master bedroom, has its own bathroom.
The open plan stairs wind up the side of the main room to the first floor sitting room which has TV with FreeView. The sofa can be converted to a double bed. Oil fired central heating. An irregular set of old stone steps goes outside up to the sitting room.

Outside, there is plenty of parking. The garden is not large, but has a barbecue, and there is plenty of space around the house and on the farm for children to play, wander or bike. Garden furniture. There is a small pond about thirty yards from the house. Most of the house is on a single floor and therefore suitable for those less able to climb stairs. Dogs allowed.
