Property description
Wanney Cottage has been sympathetically renovated, retaining its old charm and offering all modern facilities, central heating throughout and woodburning stove. It is situated in a quiet location, reached via a farmtrack, 250 yards off the main road (A68)running through the village of Ridsdale, with its dog and family friendly pub. The cottage is centrally located, within easy reach of the many tourist attractions of the area. The beautiful Northumberland coast and Scotland are only an hours drive away.
Accommodation Downstairs:
Separate, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher,washing machine, fridgefreezer, microwave and many extras for the more ambitious cooks amongst our guests.
Lounge with dining area, woodburning stove, LCD TV (Sky free view), dvd player and hifi.
Sunroom with great views and large bedsettee for additional spleeping space.
Accommodation Upstairs:
Large bedroom with kingsize bed, dressing table and ample storage.
Single bedroom with adultsize bed and bathroom with theromastatic shower over bath.
Outside:
Large, fenced in garden, safe for children and pets, with wonderfull views, table and chairs and barbeque.
Allocated parking for up to 2 cars.
Pets are welcome by prior arrangement at no extra cost
Travelcot and highchair are provided on request.
Usually the cottage is let weekly, Saturday change over day. Short breaks may be availabe, mainlly in the low season, please enquire.

Area description
Wanney Cottage provides the ideal base to explore Northumberland, the best kept secret for holiday makers, and adjacent areas. Northumberland National Park with its open and rich history, Flora and Fauna is just at the door step, ideal for walking cycling, bird watching and fishing. Kielder Water, one of the largest reservoirs and Kielder Forest, is only 20 miles away, oferring watersport facilities and nature walks. There are many castles in the area, Bamburgh and Dunstonburgh Castle in spectacular costal settings, Alwick Castle and Gardens, Harry Potter film set. The Northumberland Coast offers also deserted, sandy beaches and picturesque fishing villages. The Farn Islands, bird sanctury and seal collonies reached by boat, and Lindisfarn are worth a daytrip. Roman remains are inland, including Hadrian's Wall, a world heritage site. National Trust managed properties, Craigside near Rothbury and Wallingtom House and Gardens are nearby.
Durham, with its famous Cathedral and Castle and Beamish outdoor museum, the cultural and vibrant cities of Newcastle upon Tyne and Edingburgh can all be reached within a good hours drive. Guests can, of course, just relax and do nothing and just enjoy a light, 5 minute stroll to the local pub or admire the spectacular scenary from the comfort of an armchair.
