All our Cornwall holiday cottages have the facilities you would expect in a home away from home and are family friendly - equipped for all ages from toddlers to grown ups. Wood burning stoves, luxury bed linen and welcome goodies are some of the little touches that will make your stay extra special.
Woodlands Manor retains many original features including low lintels, slate floors and magnificent fireplaces. Holiday guests will be delighted with the mix of old and new. Comfortable sofas in both sitting-rooms allow holidaymakers to appreciate the cosy wood-burners. Cooks will relish the four oven Aga in the kitchen/breakfast-room which leads into the conservatory, where the sun can be enjoyed even if the wind is blowing! All bedrooms have romantic bedsteads and children will love the little staircases going up and down, and the bedrooms leading into one another. Outside is a delightful private mature garden and a courtyard, easily accessed from the conservatory. All in all this luxurious manor house is our pride and joy. Please note that the changeover times are 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.

Whatever the weather, you will always find something fun and interesting to do during your stay at our luxury Bude Holiday Cottages.
Swimming Pool
Our indoor heated swimming pool is open from 8am-8pm every day and is kept at a constant 84 degrees - perfect for that early morning dip or a late afternoon relax. We probably have one of the best views from our swimming pool in Cornwall, overlooking our farmland with views of our local village, Kilkhampton. If you are lucky enough you will even spot one or two of our sheep grazing in the field next door, something that we believe is unique to our Bude holiday cottages.
Games Room
Our games room is located next to the indoor swimming pool and is well equipped with a pool table, darts, table tennis, giant connect 4 and table football, and is open to anybody staying in our Bude cottages. This is the ideal place for those 'friendly' family competitions! Parents against children – who will win?
Animals:
Ponies - We are very lucky in that when we bought Woodlands Manor Farm we inherited 3 Shetland ponies all with different personalities and all who love a bit of attention.
Everyday we go to their fields and feed them apples and carrots and we always welcome an extra pair of hands or two should you wish to help us feed them. This sort of experience is what makes our Bude holiday cottages special.
Sheep - We also have 11 ewes and 10 lambs that were born this spring. They help to keep the grass down around the farm and staying in our luxury Bude holiday cottages will let you see them all.
Chickens - Once our new chicken house has been built we will then have some chickens and these will be able to provide us with lots of fresh eggs for your breakfast and our home-made cakes.
Ducks - Our duck pond has just been completely cleared and cleaned and so far we have 8 beautiful Call Ducks. Later in the year we will have some more ornamental ducks and some for their egg laying ability!
Pigs - In April we bought 4 Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs and these are Adele's babies. They are a lovely sight to see racing around their pen and digging big muddy hollows in which to wallow.
Woodland Walks
At Woodlands Manor Farm we probably have some of the best views and countryside walks of any Bude holiday cottages. We have our own area of woodland with a signposted walk down to our stream which is beautiful at any time of the year. We are also happy for you to stroll around our fields and gardens but please be aware that we have two ponds – so please keep hold of little hands.
What to do in North Cornwall
Walking: We are extremely lucky to have our holiday cottages in North Cornwall situated just 2 miles from the coast and the famous South West Coast path that starts at Minehead in Somerset and ends at Studland in Dorset. You can walk from our land, down through Combe Valley (area of natural outstanding beauty) to Duckpool Cove and we are always more than happy to pick up and drop off walkers in our land rover should you wish to leave your car here on site. You can also walk around our land, which is just one of the reasons we think our luxury Bude holiday cottages are among the best.
Beaches: We are spoilt for choice for beaches and coves in this area of North Cornwall – here are just a few of our favourites:
Duck Pool – this is our nearest beach and is just 2 miles away from our Bude Cottages. It is a very natural and wild cove, swimming is not recommended, but the surf is good for experienced surfers. It is favoured by many as a quiet retreat away from it all and offers spectacular scenery whatever the weather
Sandymouth – Owned by the National Trust and is about 3 miles away from our holiday accommodation in Bude - a lovely quiet beach with its own waterfall – well worth the steep climb!
Summerleaze – one of the 2 beaches in Bude - a very picturesque beach with good facilities.
Widemouth Bay – (pronounced ‘Widmuth’) is 3 miles south of Bude and offers 2 stunning beaches stretching approx 1.5 miles. Excellent facilities and a number of surf schools are based here.
Villages and Towns
Kilkhampton - is the nearest village to our holiday cottages in North Cornwall and has a small range of shops including 2 grocers, post office, a toy shop and a great takeaway – the Pizza Ape. Kilk, as it is known to the locals, also has 2 pubs; The London Inn and The New Inn, both offering local ales and home-cooked food.
Bude - is located just 6 miles south of us, right on the coast and is a mix of contemporary and old fashioned charm. There are plenty of unique and locally owned shops and a wide selection of individual restaurants, cafes and pubs to suit everyone’s budget and taste. It’s a great place to spend time, and our Luxury Bude Cottages are in a perfect location for you to do so.
Make sure you make time to stroll along the canal – it has one of only three lock gates opening straight into the sea in the whole of the UK. Bude boasts not only one but two beaches; Crooklets – perfect for the surfers and Summerleaze – perfect for families. The golf club is located over-looking Bude with glorious views out to sea. The links course will give even the experienced golfer a challenging round!
Clovelly – located just 10 miles north of our holiday cottages in North Cornwall, it is a picture postcard fishing village with cobbled streets, tiny working harbour and donkey rides up and down the steep lanes – well worth a visit.
Attractions
The Big Sheep - a great day out for the whole family. Lots of activities ranging from sheep races, pony rides, indoor and outdoor play areas, garden centre and high ropes course – something for the young and old alike – visit their website for more details www.thebigsheep.co.uk
The Milky Way - excellent adventure park with indoor and outdoor activities and it is also the home of Devon’s longest, fastest and highest roller coaster – visit their website www.themilkyway.co.uk
Tintagel – A very pretty town, famous for its association with King Arthur and the knights of the round table. The Castle is maintained by English Heritage. Visit their website for more details www.tintagelweb.co.uk
